Was extremely excited about Costco opening in Midland but I have been left very disappointed my last 4 visits. My first visit the cashier could not figure out how to apply my shop card, I let it go and planned to use it the next. The next visit the cashier at self checkout had no idea on how to apply it as well. The next time I let the cashier know I would like to use my shop card, she got visibly annoyed and stated I should have told her first, and made a big deal over having to apply it. Which apparently wasn’t very difficult because it was applied with the push of a button, then I paid cash, she at first attempted to tell me no cash, I questioned this since it is listed as a valid tender for the establishment. After I questioned she magically was able to accept my cash. This brings us to today. I simply wanted to return a pair of jeans (tags and everything still attached) the door greeters acted as if I was an idiot for going in through the entrance and sent me to the exit, where I then waited 30 minutes before another associate sent me to the actual return counter instead of the membership line, despite me asking if that is where I was supposed to wait and being told yes. I have yet to feel welcomed by any associate here, and it seems like problem after problem. I am really considering cutting my loss of purchasing a membership and returning...

Costco. Where Midland now goes to feel both rich and poor at the same time.
This location? Solid. The place is set up like they actually care if you can find stuff, unlike some warehouse clubs that seem to rearrange the layout every Tuesday just for fun. The selection? Top-tier. Same glorious bulk basics as Sam’s—giant tubs of mayo, 40-count snack boxes, and more cheese than any one human should be allowed to purchase. But let’s be honest… same stuff, different club.
Now, here’s the kicker: no Scan & Go. If you're used to flying through Sam’s like a self-checkout ninja, this feels like being downgraded to peasant mode. You're stuck playing bumper carts in a line that rivals TSA on a Thanksgiving. But to be fair, there are employees everywhere. Need a sample? Done. Need directions? Someone in a red vest appears out of thin air like a helpful genie. Honestly, I saw more workers here than in a Chick-fil-A drive-thru and that’s saying something.
Final thoughts: nice setup, clean, solid inventory, but Scan & Go withdrawal is real. Come for the mediocre savings, stay because your cart is too heavy to...

The grand opening was amazing – the store was clean, well-organized, and fully stocked with everything we love. The staff in their blue jackets were super friendly and ready to help with anything we needed. 🛒💙
We grabbed some great deals, enjoyed the samples, and the gas prices are already saving us money. ⛽️💰
