The facility itself looks great. It does have some odd features. The track is nestled in a valley, so a lot of slopes. So it might be more difficult for someone in a wheelchair or with a disability to get around. The parking is just a grass field with no lighting. They had to announce over the pa several multiple times a night that a car needed moved because they were blocking people in. They even had stuff about parking on their Facebook so I'm assuming they have a lot of issues with people parking others in or badly. The food was a little expensive. The cheeseburger was not as good as I was expecting for the price. Sandusky, Lorain, and Painesville have far better burgers.
The event started great. They had the next race lined up and out on track with little delay. But as the night went on that slowed. The pits are split in two because it's on two separate levels of the hill. This caused issues getting cars to the staging area for races. The track clean up was pretty good. They had a couple that took too long. The track itself looks great. Well kept. They put down some traction compound after the heat races, but no second groove ever developed. It was disappointing because there wasn't much passing. The lead changed more because guys broke out of their qualifying times than from actual on track passing. The event also went past midnight, so that might be a bit much for some families with little kids.
All in all it's a nice track. It was a two hour drive for me. I don't see myself going there for a normal Saturday night program. Now if the Ohio Wheelman Series or some other bigger event is going on then I could see...
Read moreThe only reason it got 2 stars is because it started out well, and concessions are cheapest I've ever seen. Wish it was a dirt track. Once it got to main features, it all went downhill. Track coordination between Flagstand and safety crew was ridiculous. I've never seen a flag man leave the flag stand so many times ever. Drivers couldn't keep it together in any series, even if there was a $100,000 prize at the end. Race 2 laps and then spinout, 25 caution laps until next green. Race around one turn with spinout, then 19 caution laps. This went on for hours. The remaining crowd (most people left by this time cussing) would applaud just for making it 2 laps under green. But then another caution. When someone would finally win a feature, their whole family tree would run out on track and celebrate for 25 minutes on the front stretch. This is the first time I've ever left a track before completion except due to weather. But I've never seen a short track race last more than 7 hours before either. Would highly recommend not to ever come here. I know my entire group of 16 people who showed up will never be back. And plenty of other people around us that left disgusted with poor...

For a racetrack, the food was right on par with all others. Hot dogs for $2, hamburgers for $3, cheeseburgers for $3.50, plenty of mustard, ketchup, relish, onions, jalapenos slices, pickles, etc. for garnishing whatever food item you purchased. And yes, popcorn for only a buck! There were plenty of other selections including chips, walking tacos, steak burgers, pizza and lots of cold drinks. The only drawback at this track is the very limited "family" section where there is no smoking or drinking. This section is only one of the very many sections. Sadly, cigarette smoke is in the air everywhere, simply because this one tiny section is so small, that there are smokers only a couple feet away in the adjacent seating section. Last, although the track is set up for it, the track is unable to sell any alcohol. They did say they are working out the license requirements for this now. Would come back. Lots of fun for less than $40 for a family of 4 to get...
