Calico Creek Feed and Pet — Local services in Mill Hall

Lots of issues with this pet store. Today I went in last minute to get some food from my guinea pigs because they were completely out, and they don’t close till six. All the doors were locked by 5:50. I know that’s an awful time to come in and grab stuff, but I just needed to grab a bag of guinea pig food check out and leave and I knew exactly what I was looking for. Another thing is, I have been sold three times animals that were the wrong gender but pregnant. They do not take very good care of their animals at all, I have had to raise seven baby guinea pigs because they sold me two male guinea pig pigs, but they were both pregnant females And they couldn’t do anything to compensate me . I also have a pregnant hamster because they sold me a male saying it was a female. A lot of their guinea pigs seem to have been inbred, and they are constantly putting the wrong gender in the wrong enclosure and selling them as the wrong gender. If it all possible, I would recommend going somewhere else and supporting another local pet store than this pet store. And these are just a few at the...

I used the spa today. I spoke with one groomer and she helped me choose a oatmeal treatment for my dog. She told me I would need to bathe my dog(who is a doodle)with shampoo 1st then apply the oatmeal treatment and allow it to soak in for at least 5 mins. Since she is a doodle the whole process is time consuming. Then to dry her, clean her ears, and brush her takes a long while. I was told there was not a time limit so I was taking my time making sure she was dried well before going in to the cold. After at least 3 employees walked through the spa area while I was caring for my dog I didn't feel comfortable anymore. My dog was nervous to begin with and they did not help her situation. The last straw was when the groom place opened the door for a 3rd time and asked if I needed another ticket. I didn't even finish grooming my dog, I was so disgusted that we just left. I do not...

So, today was my second time going here for fish and it was not like this a couple months ago so I am not sure what’s going on but buyer beware. Took the 40 minute drive to look for fish hoping for a better place than petco or petsmart. Boy was I wrong. More than half of the tanks had dead fish in them, some dead for obviously quite a while. Many of the filters were barely putting out any air so grossly dirty were they. Add to that a bunch of the tanks had insanely bad breakouts of Black Beard Algae. I was pretty sad as they actually had Kuhli loaches which were the main thing I went in there looking for but I couldn’t chance spreading any of that to either of my tanks.
