Don Duncan's All American Tire — Local services in Millbrook

I took my son's truck over to Don Duncan's that used to be the Scott's Auto Service at 4451 coosada road in Millbrook. And I can tell you I will never use Don Duncan's again. I take my son's truck to have them put on a lower radiator hose as it had gone bad. When they called me back with the price they told me that they wanted to do a coolant flush. Then the truck ran a little hot and replaced the lower radiator hose. I was quoted $765 for a radiator hose, coolant, flush, shop supplies, taxes, and labor. What I told her to take the coolant flush off she told me that after that was taken off the price was still going to be $410. I then told them that I was going to do the work myself and they told me that the diagnostic fee was going to be $160 that I had to pay before getting my son's truck. I called their main location on Adams avenue in Montgomery and was told by a nice gentleman there that the coolant flush is $180 and that the diagnostic fee is $79.95. I told them that I should not have to pay anything even the diagnostic fee due to the fact that I was giving false information and it sounds like the girl at the counter at the nearest location in Millbrook on Cosada road was only trying to bump the price up.

I get a call from the manager of the 4451 coosada road location And she tells me that the girl that gave me the price is new and that she didn't know how to do it. Or maybe the system? Did the pricing wrong. Really?

You're going to try and sit there and blame your system for something that's wrong and then she proceeded to tell me that the coolant flush is $200 and that the diagnostic fee is $139.95. so once again I'm getting a different price from a different person. Then the manager of that location told me that each Don Duncan store is ran different. I would hope and think that every location being under the same name have one set standard + has one cent pricing not different pricing for different areas that the store is in.

So in all I will never take your vehicle back to Don Duncan's because the manager at the location I went to told me that the price of the lower radiator hose alone was $215. Once again really? I can go to O'Reilly's Auto parts and get a...

Don't get me wrong. They seem to be very nice people. But... I had work done and it cost me a pretty penny. A lot of them. I should have checked before okaying the work, but I found out later that over half of the bill was to 4 ignition coils. Nearly $100 each. The problem is, there are LOTS of other places that sell them for $25 each. $400 or $100 for the same parts? I will go with the $100 price. I would only be concerned if they were that price from only one location. But everywhere I checked, $100 was the norm (for a set of 4). So now I have another vehicle that needs work. To prevent myself from being burned again, I found the part and bought it myself. I called to see how much they would charge to replace the part and their response was "we don't use customer parts". The ONLY reason I even considered them again is because they are near where I live. But because of the apparent need to overcharge for parts, I have no choice but to seek this work elsewhere. Nothing Is better than Scott’s Auto! They are friendly and do excellent work! Just took my 2020 Rogue in and they were able to do an oil change within a few hours! I have been going to them for over a decade and I can honestly say they do excellent work and stand behind their work. I have never had an issue with pricing or with the work. They always verify the price and the issue with the customer before they begin working on it so there is no surprise when you get the bill.
