Retro Rewind sells games from previous console generations. I like how they also deal with ones from the current generation, but you'll find most old games.
When I got inside, the games are properly organized by console as well as the gaming consoles. Some old games are pricey and some are reasonable. Like the Mario & Sonic Olympics Wii games are over $20 as if you need to pay extra for super nostalgia. There are rarely any GameCube games and they are kinda hard to find. Also, I see that there are a pile of products laying on the floor. It seems that they are trying to place them to proper places. I think that area is suppose to be like a place to play games?
I looked over accessories of the consoles at the left side of the store, but there are rarely any of them. I guess that the store is too small to display them at the front. So maybe ask the staff if they have any specific ones from the backroom. Good thing that they sell GameCube memory cards, and up to 16MB or 64MB?? Nowadays game storage cards are at 500GB, 1TB, or 2TB. Goes to show how much technology has evolved.
I haven't bought anything there yet since I am not interested in buying games at the moment, but my sister bought GameCube and Super Smash Bros Melee from this store. I'll give my chance to think about what games and consoles I want to get in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA local business that sells retro video games! Its unfortunate that this represents the current trend of retro video games... $80 for a hard copy of Melee?? $400 for a Pikachu N64? $150 for Zelda II on the NES???? $80 for Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door? At least the N64 controllers are somewhat at decent price? Now, thats no knock to the owner who is really nice, it just hurts to see these types of prices that should be alot lower than they should be. Hes even bought out the old display cases from gamestop when they used to sell DS and Game Boy Advance Games... Theres a huge reason why people are emulating or pirating these popular games...
Look past the retail side and you'll find they host fun video game swaps every now and then! Theres a fun couch area with a tv that lets you play all of these games as long as you like! Only to realize you dont own em yet or anymore! xD
The store owner also helps me to fix up my game boy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRetro Rewind is an ok game store. They have a wide selection of retro and new games. As well as funko pops and pokemon cards.
But some of their videos games and funko pops aren't reasonably priced. I get it high end games will be expensive. They never cut deals or haggle with customers They say they pay top dollar for trades but that the furthest thing from the truth. The guy with glasses isn't so open to trades sometimes and has a bad temper. He even admitted he likes to lowball customers. Go here if it's your last resort.
I recommend going to Cartridge Cartel (John is an awesome owner) and Half-Priced Books in Fremont, The Retro Fix in Campbell (Rudy is an awesome owner) and Level Up Games in Santa Cruz. All those shops have games at a resonable price and even throw in freeables. We need more shops that care about the video game community and less about...
