If you have thick, curly hair, I would not recommend. The individual who I saw seemed very overwhelmed by my hair type and texture. After a cut and color which I was charged nearly $250 for, my hair looked nothing like what I had asked for. I completely understand that working with certain hair types can pose a challenge and that you may not always be able to achieve the look that you desire. Had my stylist been honest with me that she could not get my hair to look that way, I would have understood. Afterwards, I was not satisfied so I decided to reach out to the salon/stylist. I emailed and called for over a month without receiving any response. The customer service at The Beauty Room was incredibly disappointing. The stylist was also a bit condescending, as she stated that she never received any of my attempts to contact her. Thankfully, with both emails and phone calls, you can provide proof. I was able to get a refund through my card company, thankfully. The Beauty Room and my stylist were less than helpful in resolving this issue. I so badly want to gatekeep this place. But I won’t… After falling victim to the unrestrained intrusive thoughts of my last stylist (I’m not kidding, that’s the only justification that makes any bit of sense of how my hair ended up as butchered as it was), I was extremely hesitant to trust anyone else with my hair. Especially after growing it out from a flowbee (look it up) Kate Gosselin for 5 months.

Matt was wonderful and hilarious, which was a treat on its own. But he also surpassed my expectations of my hair looking “just decent”. It actually looks cute for the first time in a very long time. We are on an optimistic journey toward a full hair recovery.

Finding a stylist is similar to finding a therapist. You don’t want to leave feeling like you need even MORE therapy than when you arrived.

I went to Amanda Wippler with above shoulder curly hair dying for some better shape. Went 5 times to a curly hair salon not completely happy each time the last straw being not shaping my short hair anything like I wanted. Found Amanda and one other stylists profile on The Beauty Room website that I liked because they both stated curls and short hair as an interest to them. Booked with Amanda and my experience was 5 star. The Salon is beautiful, just my style. Amanda was very personable and really listened to my needs. Shaped my hair into my vision, added some defining balayage..had me in a week later to make some adjustments to my curls as they were naturally. Didn't push products but the salon has a nice wall of products in the lobby with descriptions on display very nice. I hope to make this my hair...
