I only get Chinese food from Mei Inn especially when I'm in the cities. For 20 yrs I've ordered the same dishes, chicken fried rice, egg foo yung, and maybe some appetizer egg rolls, fried shrimp. Today I an honestly say the food wasn't good at all. The rice was gummy and not the usual color brown I'm use to. Egg foo yung wasn't cooked like usual. Also I found out the nice lady I've ordered with for 20yrs has retired, also the older gentleman that was the cook isn't there either. Such a disappointment. Especially bringing clients in that have eaten there before and them also saying the food wasn't good. Hopefully things change, but I probably won't return.

Wow actually really bad! We had eaten here many times over the last few years and had really great, fresh food, but the food we got tonight was really bad. Bland, no flavor, and halfassed. The "chicken" was all breading, barely any sauce, the fried rice was *ok*, not great. And the tofu entree I got was really badly seasoned. Don't know if supplies of things are weird because of covid, but the quality has gone way down.

4/29/2017: Dining in here was very nice with service being fast and friendly. My only criticisms are the mild spice level and protein to vegetable ratio. This may explain the apparently low prices. My Szechuan pork (very little pork) was really mild despite my ordering it extra spicy. The host remedied the situation right away so points for that.

I had just driven a friend to a nearby location, and the building had no restrooms that were unlocked. With clenched pelvic girdle muscles, I headed down the sidewalk in urgent desperation. Luckily, I stumbled upon this place which allowed me relief. I walked out of the bathroom and performed a quick panoramic survey of the place I had just entered....and my intuition was screaming at me.... that this place was, well, a diamond in the rough. Dive-a-licious....the real deal here. There was somewhat of a language barrier when I returned 10 minutes later to order more food for my friend. With some patience on both ends, I was walking back to my friend (about 20 minutes later) with another big helping of amazing food. If you are patient, and up for something truly unique, you should come here. This is a family-owned, very small, neighborhood-type place. The family who owns this restaurant obviously works very hard, which I respect very much. And it is definitely not about the atmosphere, nor is it about "red carpet" service. The food is what you come for...and its the food that will bring you back there (two trips in 30 minutes for me). If you're looking for "service" or "atmosphere", go to Burch Steak, Bachelor...

They burned my eggfooyoung. I did call and tell them and was told it was pre-made. I told her that I wanted fresh made and I went back the next day and they made good but did not give me the rice to go with it.

Ok so I go back a couple of days ago to give them another chance because they use to have good food. So the owner and his wife confronts me about my review. He goes on to say, you need to remove this review. I don't want this on here. So I tell him it wasn't me and he brings the review up and tells me to remove it. So I continue to deny it was me and his wife says you are the only one who complains. I say, I find that hard to believe when it was black. And just so everyone knows eggfuyoung is golden brown not black. Needless to say they have lose me, my family and all my many friends as customers due to their unprofessionalism and harassment and on top of that they gave me black eggfuyoung once again. I didn't eat it because I was afraid they put something in it because they knew I gave them a bad review. I will never give a review and go back to give any establishment another chance because of this very situation. Once you've messed up with...

New owners have DEFINITELY retired. Food is bland, disturbingly suspicious texture that leads me to believe it's either a very cheap product or cooked improperly - or still raw. I saw a few new reviews about potential food poisoning and I implore you to heavily consider that as a possibility before you step anywhere near here.

The restaurant is now fully in a to-go type style, the old atmosphere with the rowed booths with tables that I grew up on are now gone and were replaced with a U shaped waiting area with cheap red plastic booths. This is no longer a community staple, it's a disrespectful continuation of a restaurant once run by passionate and respected members of our neighborhood.

To the old owners, wherever you are and to whatever adventures your retirement may lead you, I hope you have a comfortable and love filled life.

To the new ones, you literally had one expectation - keep the standard the same. Nobody expected or asked you to go above and beyond or try to make changes to something that was already perfect. If you think these changes were a good idea for the longevity of this historical...
