I was looking forward to doing this. On Cinco de Mayo, I set out to find a tweeter wire harness for my Genesis Coupe. My first call was to Audio Unlimited, and it was a complete disappointment. Not only were they unhelpful, but they were also condescending and dismissive.

I understand that businesses get a lot of calls, and I’m sure they deal with their fair share of nonsense. But good customer service is simple: listen, engage, and provide a reasonable resolution. Instead of making an honest effort to help, they quickly brushed me off. If they didn’t know what I was talking about, they could have simply asked for clarification or taken a moment to check. Instead, their response was a dismissive "Good luck with that", followed by an astronomical price quote that clearly suggested they weren’t interested in helping.

I had the product in hand, I knew what I was asking for, and I was prepared to give them my business—but their attitude ensured I wouldn’t. So, I moved on.

Next, I called Tweet, and the difference was night and day. Holley answered the phone and did everything she could to assist me. She invited me to come in and try the products they had available to see if any would work for my vehicle. When I arrived, I was met with kindness, professionalism, and expertise.

They opened the package right in front of me so I could test it myself. Holley personally came over, examined everything, and made an honest assessment: "I don’t think this is going to work, but we can make it work for you." That right there is the attitude of a business that wants to earn customers—they cared about problem-solving, not shutting me down.

The price they quoted me was the same as Audio Unlimited, but with full installation included. They got the work done right away, made sure it looked clean, and delivered fantastic results. While they weren’t able to do exactly what I had originally envisioned, they made everything work in a timely, thoughtful, and expert manner.

I ended up choosing Tweet, and I am beyond happy with their service. The excellent phone support played a major role in that decision—even though I could have done this work myself, Tweet’s professionalism and effort earned my business, and I will absolutely return for future services.

Hi, my name is Michael; I had my 2003 Toyota 4Runner SR5 serviced at the Tweet Shop in July 2021. I take reviewing the services I use very seriously because many people make a purchase decision after reading someone else's experience with it. You will see below that my review is divided into 3 sections, and I will update you if any drastic changes occur.

MY EXPERIENCE: I went to have an aftermarket head unit put in and brought in wiring harnesses, adapters, and brackets in so they could wire in the steering wheel controls to the new system. I dropped it off at 11 am and they called and informed me that it was ready around 2:30 pm the same day. The head unit works well even though I chose to keep only the stock sound equipment, and the steering wheel controls work beautifully with the system. The only reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5 is because in the process of taking the dash apart for the installation, they took off a wire from my horn switch. To be fair, it was a pretty ghetto wiring job, but they still should have said something about it to me. I was a bit annoyed at first, but I was able to fix it again in 20 minutes and have it back up and running.

THE BOTTON LINE: Even though they messed up my horn, I have no other complaints. The woman who I first talked to when I came in gave me an accurate, up-front estimate. I’m a little disappointed with this place. In 2019 I got a rear cam and new stereo installed along with remote start. They couldn’t figure out how to get the new stereo to work with my steering wheel controls even though I advised that is absolutely a feature I didn’t want to lose. They upgraded my remote start as they didn’t have what I asked for which was great. Take whatcha can get I guess.

Fast forward two years, my back up cam is flickering and working only sometimes.

I spent almost 3 hours sitting at the shop and they tell me that they’ve tried everything. They tried a new camera, they tested the relay and found that the issue is my stereo; the relay or input on the stereo was bad which would only be fixed by replacing the whole thing. Uh..... Considering the stereo is only 2 years old, I was skeptical; I’ve never had this issue before with other vehicles I’ve had the same thing installed in. Regardless they didn’t charge me and I gave the guy a tip for his time and efforts.

I take the truck to my father in TN who finds that, oh... it’s just a disconnected wire under the floor board. See photo. And he was able to fix my steering wheel controls. 🤔

So either they don’t know how to properly troubleshoot an issue from top to bottom before giving a diagnosis and costing the customer hundreds of unnecessary dollars OR they wanted a sell to make the labor worth their time....

I don’t know which one is actually true or which is worse, but either way, I’ll find another shop...
