Moke Hill Market — Local services in Mokelumne Hill

Passed by this grocery store and thought we should pick up groceries before heading to our campsite. Very nice staffs in the super market.

I expected a supermarket like this to have not so fresh foods and near expiry things (for example the curry cubes we got was a week away from expiry date). However, this stew meat that we got there, smelled very spoiled as we opened the package. We of course did not realize that until we drove hours away from the supermarket, in our camp site.

What’s scarier is that the packaging had an MODIFIED “sell by” date - Someone changed the date from JULY 24 (3 weeks before) to AUG 22. And the back had a sticker that says “use by” July 16. Exactly a month ago.

Why is it ok to sell expired meats? How is this ethical in anyway??? Posting this so the owner could stop doing this. People prolly won’t die from eating it but it could cause some serous sickness, and it HAD caused food poisoning...

Went in to get a deli sandwich made today Saturday 12:30 .First time there had heard very good. Upon ordering I asked the woman behind the counter do you have sliced sour dough she gave me this stare down and tapped an orange construction paper sign with a list of bread options.then I ask do you have Pepper jack cheese she gives me this stare and says look at the list and taps another orange construction paper sign .I thought to myself wow okay This person is not in to this and I don't want her making me anything with her lack of care what the heck .i get people have bad days but wow just rudeness So obnoxious. Sad they lost a sale due to her poor attitude went with a frozen burrito that's how much I didn't want her...

The cashier chose to ignore me not saying a word or even looking me in the eye and talk to the vendor for 2 minutes instead of ringinig me up for the over priced children's Tylenol I was trying to purchase. I had a crying 1 year old in the car and just needed something for her teething. Ended up at True Value in San Andreas paying half of what they were charging. Wouldn't...
