I really like this store. Lots of quality made western products. It's the only place I've shopped in this area that sells my favorite Corral Brand cowboy/girl boots and seeing them in person is nice before buying. They had many other quality brands as well such as Ariat, Twisted X, Tony Lama, Lucchese, Lane and several more. They also had quality cowboy/girl hats from great companies like Stetson, Bullhide, Resistol and Jason Alden. Made from straw, or wool, bison or beaver fur felt hats. The boots were priced very close to what you pay online but without shipping costs if they are charged, and they offered hat shaping. The hats were alittle more expensive, but with the variety and the fact they would trim the brim and shape the hat brim for you of you request it definately helps make it worth it. That service is hard to find around here! They also had many clothing items, many made with real leather and I loved many of them, but they in my opinion were mostly too expensive. One t-shirt was 59.00 which is just too much which it's why I rated this place with 4 stars. They also have westen belts, and jewelry like belt buckles, necklaces, and bolo ties. I am a cowgirl inside and out, and I only wear western style clothing and I can tell you I loved most of the clothing in this store. Unfortunately I'll have to save up for quite awhile before going there again so I can buy some of the items I saw and really liked. I'll also only buy items there I can't get anywhere else like a couple leather vests, and a coat I loved because I can get the other items for better price elsewhere. I like supporting local small businesses, but I have a limit. Bottom line I definately will go back, but...
Read moreI bought a pair of Lucchese boots here a couple of years ago and was very happy with the experience.
I originally bought a pair on Amazon that I though I would like, but did not like them when I saw them in person and tried them on. To avoid this problem, we drove up to Back to Basic's. A gentleman helped us with questions, suggestions and trying things on. He was not pushy at all, but gave his expert advice. I thought I wanted black boots, but when he found out what I wanted them for and how I planned to wear them, he suggested brown boots and I'm glad he changed my mind. He also recommended a few other brands that he felt would be better for me. I ended up sticking with Lucchese for sentimental reason's and he accepted that without any rudeness and without making me feel silly for not taking his advice on that point. Overall, it was a great experience. I don't remember how the price compared to other places, but I think it was in the ballpark of the pair I had bought and returned on Amazon. I'm typically very price conscious, but if I had to pay a little more to get the service and pick the right boot, it was worth it. If I knew exactly what I wanted, it might have been a...
Read moreGenuinely blown away by the service. Went in wanting to buy boots and a cowboy hat. The female crewmember at the time not only helped choose, but explained the differences in a boot, which ones would look nice with what, the sizing differences, the comparison between different brands, where they were made. Would of thought she was curator! Finally settled with one boot. Went to hats, and much the same way. Extremely knowledgeable on the brands, the types, the colors, how it's supposed to feel, how it's supposed to sit. Storage recommendations, the do's and don'ts.
Genuinely helpful information I will carry with me in the future and had no idea about until today.
The last time I was here, was about 4 years ago. Since then, it has expanded ALOT. And is much more organized, lively, and a pleasure to be in. (Not that it wasn't bad before!) Fantastic place and will be back for extra stuff for my Vegas...
