My review is split between sales and service.
Their sales team would get 5 stars from me. During my purchase process Kyle was awesome. Prompt with communicating and the e sign & delivery option was great. No pressure and answered all my questions.
Their service team would get a 2 star rating from my experience. I got my 2017 truck and part of my deal was to install a steering wheel I purchased. I get the truck and it rubs the plastic cover behind the wheel. When I asked, their answer was they noticed it and that the wheel was thicker than the original, so it will rub. Firstly I've managed to make it about 50% better just by pushing the cover back as it didn't seem to be fully seated. It still rubs but going to look into it more soon. Also, if they noticed it after install why not notify the customer then and there to see if it should be completed, or put the old one back on. Also, my truck had a check engine light come on 5 days after delivery. I get it checked and it's an EVAP code. I double check the cap and clear it. 5 days later on again. So I find it hard to believe they never experienced this. I put a new cap on it and am seeing if that fixes it. If not I'll hopefully get to use the warranty I bought (thankfully) to have it fixed. Also had numerous light bulbs out which I've since replaced.
Lastly, the rear brakes have been squealing since the day of delivery, so likely will be looking at replacing those.
Just not at all what I'd expect to have happen before even making my first payment.
UPDATE- I reached out to the dealership per the reply, with the exception of Kyle it did NOT end well.
I reached out to Kyle and he arranged for my truck to be picked up, left me a loaner, and my truck was returned to me. That was the only good part of this experience given Im about 80 miles from them. Again, sales seems to be awesome, it's the shop that's lacking.
The shop called me to find out what the issues were. I mentioned the brakes and wheel.
15 minutes later I get a text saying they "looked" at it and agreed the squealing was coming from the rear brakes, but that the pads and rotors looked fine. If I wanted them replaced it was going to be 670 plus tax. I told them the situation and to get with Kyle, and let him know also.
2 days later I talk to Kyle and he tells me that he was told the brakes maybe squealed once, on a wet day. That isn't true at all as it has done it every day since I've had it. He was also told RAM had an issue with the pads. Oddly enough they gave me a 2017 ram (which is also what I have) that didn't make a peep. I mentioned that to him.
Their only offer to help was for me to pay for new pads / install, but the noise may come back. Also, nothing was done about my wheel rubbing. So all I got from this experience was the cost of refueling my truck which I wouldn't have minded had they actually fixed anything.
Suffice it to say I was done with them. They returned my truck and I took it to a local, and trusted, shop I've used for years. I said nothing of the history, just that I was hearing noise.
They called me an hour later and said whoever did the rear brakes didn't replace all hardware, which didn't allow the pads to seat properly, which allowed a rust ring to form on the rotors, and the pads were causing the noise.
I opted for the new pads/rotors for far less than the dealership wanted to charge so finally no noise.
H&K clearly doesn't value resolving real issues for their customers. This experience alone would deter me from buying anything there again. Their sales staff are awesome, their shop however is very lacking. I've made it a point to anyone who's asked to let them know if my experiences, both good and bad.
If anyone from the dealer wants to talk feel free to reach out, but I won't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would not recommend h and k Chevy. After 10 years of business and with the purchase of 2 brand new vehicles itās a dirty shame to see what a has happened.
I bought a 2012 Chevy Cruze brand new in 2012. After 112k miles 2 stripped out drain plugs from h and k and missing motor mount bolts? I traded it in. I purchased a 2014 Cruze diesel and h and k stripped out the drain plug during an oil change and I had oil running down my driveway the next day.
In March of 2017 I hit a large raccoon on the way home from work and it took out the entire front bumper and left severe under carriage damage. H and k fixed the insurance claim. I was very strong making sure they fixed everything. A year later my Cruze diesel started to over heat and several emissions alarms were being displayed. Because they didnāt fix it right the first time the car now suffers long term damage.
After 7 weeks of them keeping my Cruze diesel 14 voice mails were left with the service department. Not a single return call was noted. When the phone was answered they would put me on hold and pass me around from associate to associate trying to hold me off. It got so bad that the SALES MANAGER was getting me information about what was going on with the service department!?!?
After 4 weeks of driving my other personal vehicle I asked for a loner car. They gave me a old Buick and half of the infotainment didnāt work and the breaks were terrible. After 2 weeks of driving the loner car the oil level low light came on?? I made 4 voicemail contacts to h and k Chevy and not a call was returned. The SALES MANAGER once again took care of the car oil low light. I had to waste time out of my day to change the oil in the loner car. I never felt so unsafe in my entire life.
After the 6th week of lies and no return phone calls I started to get mean with them. I made strong contact demanding answers. On the 7th week they finally finished my car. I had to contact them to see if that was even done.
This will forever leave a sour taste in my Mouth. Itās a shame to see what h and k has turned into. The last few times I walked into the service department there was always new associates. A company that has a associate turn over rate is a sign of a failing business. What a shame.
Save your headache and go else...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe actual purchasing of my 2018 Tundra 1794 was fantastic. They were overly kind during the purchasing process. We drove 5 hours because I found the truck I had been looking for for 18 months at this dealership. On the way up I was informed the salesman that sold me the truck would not be there and another sales person would help me with the purchase. When three of us got in the truck to drive it the front half was dirty. All three of us mentioned it first thing. When I told the salesman who was helping us he informed me that this wasnāt his deal. Not interested in pressing the issue because there shouldāve been no need to press it. When asked about why it was dirty I was informed that, āI personally cleaned the truck and it wasnāt dirtyā. Again, I wasnāt just making things up and the right thing to do was to clean it when it was brought up. Here we are a month or two later and I didnāt realize the parking assist sensors had to be turned on, could be because Iām ignorant but I didnāt know, so I reach out to ask if this was something that existed when they had it and the response was, āThere were no lights or issues on when we had the truck. I do not know what that meansā as though Iām trying to have them replace something I broke.
Good Customer service is not something I personally have experienced through this process. Only say this to hopefully keep another person from having the...
