Brookshire's — Local services in Monroe

As a prior employee, I have become extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with this particular Brookshires! No assistance in deli or seafood. 2 workers present but ignored in deli ( to have meat sliced).. Shelves in disarray and not stocked. Prices missing on shelves. Saw no workers on floor or meat counter/dark in butcher portion. All workers appear to be at front of store. Under a new manager whom I have not seen the past 3 times I have been in. No greeting customers throughout the store as was required with prior management. This showed friendliness and pride in a beautifully managed store. There was always someone who was happy to assist. No more… The carry out the past 3 times. First- buggy load of groceries/ courtesy clerk took out 1 bag for a man he was visiting with at the register/I had to take a full buggy out and unload. Second-office staff took my groceries out. Third time (yesterday) courtesy clerk met me halfway down the store and carried out my groceries. Locking Southside doors at 7 pm for “safety“/buggies are all located here! Why are they locking these doors? Inconvenient! Some customers have a hard enough time just reaching the store from parking lot into the store to retrieve a buggy or scooter only to have to walk to the other end for these. No one greeting customers at doors. Management is nowhere to be found! I have seen 1 assistant manager in the past 3 times I have shopped. Last Manager (Jason) was present, friendly, worked alongside his employees to assist and make sure store was stocked, clean, and took pride in the store. Customers who shop here are not being offered the cleanliness, friendliness, nor assistance that shows the Brookshires standards that has been there in the past. I know this particular store has gone down in the past several months. Announcing your name as a cashier is not all that should be required. It’s on your shirt! This review is concerning grocery delivery from this store location using Instacart. This location DOES NOT accept EBT as a form of payment for delivery. I found the selection available for delivery to be extremely limited and the prices to be much higher than if I went to the location and shopped myself. The Instacart app will tell you that you have 'free delivery", this is misleading because they charge a 'service fee" and have a built in tipping system. When you log on, you get a specific time for delivery which looks good because it is about an hour later...at check out you discover this isn't the case at all as your delivery is now slated for 2-3 hours later. My review is important because Brookshires has associated themselves with this delivery service and one scan of the reviews of Instacart will show this is a bad idea.

I changed the star rating back to 5 because the store owner contacted me and was pleased this was brought to his attention. I did not want this to reflect badly on his store as I am sure he has no control over this third party delivery app. I love Brookshires and shop there quite often, in fact I was there today. It is always impressive when an owner takes time to respond about issues, it shows they care...

I usually dont do this, but after my experience today I have to. I usually love white cake with butter cream icing fresh from Brookshires Bakery. Not after today! I ordered a cake a few days in advance. To be specific a white cake with butter cream icing red, gold, and orange decor on top (fall colors). What I got was a purple and gold writing with green and ashy yellow flowers. So I tell the young lady behind the counter it isn't right. So Brady comes over. "it look like fall to me" No good customer service, no how can we fix it, & no discount just plain on rude. So of course I'm pissed b/c I live in Texas! I had been to the Brookshires three times that day b/4 5, coming from the South side of Monroe! I said some words (don't get me wrong) but this is a b'day cake for an event for 5pm for THANKSGIVING eve. Brady page the head man in charge so he could tell me that the cake also look fall to him! That I could either pay for the cake or leave it b/c it's nothing they could do. It was the way this situation was handled that pissed me off. So I had to drive to another store, it's almost 5 and get a cake decorated. Smh. Never will I...
