Never in my life have I felt like my family and I were being harassed by an establishment, until today. I’m not going to say that this was an issue that has happened before because it hasn’t. We have came here for years and never had an issue. I’m not sure what the issue is with the lifeguards this year but it’s like they got a whistle and don’t know how to act. Really it was just two of them, one of the female head guards and the only male lifeguard today wearing a white hat. The nine of us were in the wave pool. We were in the tubes and we were holding on to each other’s tubes. The male lifeguard whistled at us to let go and only three could hold on to each other. To which we obeyed. A little later one of our kids was dragging us to another spot in the pool and that same male lifeguard then looked at all of us, as if some of us weren’t adults, and proceeded to say “I told you only three” in a very demeaning way. I understand that this could be a safety issue with not being able to see under us for other swimmers. In that moment it was that he was very rude to us, mind you there were several other groups doing the same. After that we got out of the tubes and were just swimming. That’s when the headguard girl came and sat at the front of the wave pool where we were and started staring at us. We then decided to get out and take a break. Once we got out of the pool the head guard got out too. That’s when her and the male lifeguard got together and started talking. They then pointed at some of our kids walking to play volleyball and then stared back at our table. That is when we were like, all of this because we held onto tubes? We were very confused because others were doing it too. So one of our adults walked up to the female head guard and asked her if there was an issue. She said a short no and actually walked away!! Then the male lifeguard ended up giving one of our girls a nasty look. Through out the day they continued to stare at us. Two of our adults even walk to the front to smoke and while they were there they heard the front group of teens talking about us. At this point we were like this is ridiculous to be doing this because we held onto the tubes. Later on we decided we were going to leave and as we were about to, I guess it was the manager, she went up to two of our teens and started to chew one of them out for making inappropriate gestures. We had no idea he was doing this, if we had he would have gotten in trouble with us. Had they simply came up to us adults and let us know we could have handled it because we understand there are children there and we don’t want to be those people that are a problem we just wanted to have fun. One of our adults had to actually insert herself into the conversation because the manager did not speak to her, she instead waited until said kid was alone to chew him out and kick him out of the park. And not to mention as we are leaving the park the male was actually laughing at us. This is absolutely ridiculous because we thought the whole time it was the tube situation and we even asked if there was an issue and they said no. So we went the whole day being harassed by them pointing at us and then talking about us for a situation that could have been...
Read morePool staff regularly doesn't show up and so pool can't be open. I'm a four-time Ironman finisher and member of various gyms the last 20+ years. I come from a facility that offered 24 access to a lap pool for adults for less than $50/mos that did not require lifeguards for adults to swim, so I wonder why Eagle Point won't figure out how to offer the same. Maybe this third party enjoy's spending the City's money to pay staff?
Other reasons for a low rating: Phone lines send me in loops, with no one to answer and no hours of operation listed. One day I arrived when it was closed, which would have been prevented if phones lines had a recording they were closed or message with the hours. Another day I couldn't reach someone while I called from the pool to find out why it wasn't open (since I didn't want to walk through the lobby in my swim suit) but phones weren't ringing through to the receptionist. Fee is higher than previous facility open 24 hours a day (that had spas, sauna in locker room and complementary use of towels not to mention body soap in showers). Front desk staff inattentive and preoccupied on their personal phones. Regularly I walk in and staff don't greet me b/c they are on their phones. I stood next to the front desk attendant and was unable to get his attention after saying "hello" three times b/c he was looking at Facebook. As a lap swimmer it's frustrating to not having a second hand clock on the pool deck at both ends and both sides of the pool for training, but of course there is plenty of other incidentals crowding space in this small natatorium. So much for mindfulness! Unfriendly pool staff. No-one ever greated me after swimming there over three months. I also saw outdated swim instruction being used to teach children how to "struggle" through the water instead of learn proper swim technique. Too bad! When I made a gentle notification to management, I was dismissed b/c "so-and-so" had been there...
Read more5 of us friends, decided to drive over an hour for our golf outing. Two of us brought our high school boys who also play golf for their high schools and have played the course several times in middle and high years as part of their tournaments. We have also played a lot at this course. We play a lot of golf and have local memberships where we live. Tee times were booked, golf attire was on, pace of play was promised, if we were slow, we agreed to make adjustments to respect fellow golfers times, and above all paid full price. As we get ready to walk out, a comment was made "if you are slow, I will be first one to take you out". A sense of frustration and stress for upcoming golf tournament might have caused the individual to say those words. So we reassured that we will follow the pace guidelines. As we get ready to walk out of club house, another comment was made "you don't look like fast golfer" !!!
Just to give more background, all five golfers have played golf for over 10 years minimum. Each individual players either holds a respectable position in refining business or has minimum of two and maximum of 7 businesses that they own. 2/5 players have handicap of less than 6. So then what makes a individual judge the book by its cover? We were never out of line, yet we were treated differently. Why? A very vague, non apologetic and "we don't need you as customer" type approach, forced us to ask for refund and walk away from situation.
Course lost a $500 business and customers for life. Ask...
