June 2024 Always a pleasure to pop in to Scottys for my synthetic oil change. They squeezed me in, provided coffee and chips. I learned about additives for my oil tank and gas tank. I tipped my tech, and bounced. Thanks so much

March, 2024, Scotty and his team, as per the assessment I had during a prior visit, replaced the air filter, flushed my radiator, and did an oil change on my Toyota Sienna. I dont know what else they did, but my car was driving smooth as can be.

January 2024 I wanted to post an update. I'm still coming to Scottys. Love,Love, love the oil change specials. And the staff...they are the Tops! Thanks fir always sqeezing me in, and attending to my Sienna. .....

Found a coupon at IGA supermarket for Scotty's Automotive. I was due for an oil change, and needed new front brakes. Made an appt. Went the next day. They took care of the work promptly. They had a lot of bays.They had snacks, and a nice waiting room. Got my discount from the coupon. I will be returning.

Well, I returned. And service is still great! Thanks so much for keeping me rolling. They also have the best snacks, coffee, and conversation.

I went back this August 2023 to get my rear brakes done. So fast! I feel so secure driving my car now. Got an oil change too.

These are real pros working on my car.

Took my Daughter to college. Yay! Car water pump went on the fritz. Boooo!... 2 days before the start of labor day weekend.

They repaired the pump and replaced the timing belt post haste.

Went to Subaru World of Newton for a routine oil change. While there they decided to up their scare tactics and advise me my vehicle was unsafe to drive due to bad control arms and bushings. They wanted $3000 to do a full replacement or would cut me a break and do basic repairs for $1400. Skeptical but sufficiently scared and upset, I left and went directly to Scotty's. I met Anne & Ed who immediately made me feel like I was visiting old friends. Anne listened to my concerns and got my vehicle right in. She even drove me home! Received a call a few hours later with some suggestions for exhaust & bearing repairs, which I knew was needed and agreed with. Pertaining to what Subaru designated as my "unsafe" and potentially catastrophic control arms and bushings, I was told they are indeed safe. Subaru said there was 1/2 to 3/4 worth of play in them and they were super loose. Ed advised me their technicians said that was incorrect and there was in fact, ZERO PERCENT play in them. Ed kept emphasizing my car was in good shape and SAFE!

They gave me a quote to repair the control arms and bushings however stressed they still had a lot of life left. They will need to be addressed at some point but not at this time. I appreciated they did not try to up sell me a repair that wasn't needed. Due to that, I elected to have them repair my exhaust issue and rear bearings. I left the shop around 1PM and my car was complete by 11AM the next day.

I will NEVER AGAIN go to a dealer for any repairs after what Subaru World of Newton did to me. Subaru of Morristown isn't much better as their technician sent me home with a detached and broken air box over the summer. Scotty's Automotive gained a lifelong customer this week not only with me but with my family and friends. Building trust with your customers along with kindness and empathy goes a long way.

The personnel of the job was wonderful! Very kind and everything as far as customer service was incredible. My flaw is what i came for almost 900 later, wasnt resolved. I paid almost 600 dollars for back brakes and 189 bucks for a “thorough” go thru of my original problem. After i was told about the brakes, it seemed imperative, so i paid. I needed to know what was wrong with the transmission… so i paid the 189. Maybe 30 mins later im told my transmission will run me 8000. I was mortified because i just dropped almost 1000 dollars on a car, that only cost me 12000, why would i spend 8000 on a transmission(even with my extended warranty i was looking at almost 4000 out of pocket). I loved the business and i loved the service! However, after doing price comparison, i saved myself 3000 on the transmission and my original mechanic yelled at me for paying, what he called astronomical, for the back brakes. I really hoped to find a closer, reliable mechanic to my new home area, but it did not happen as i had hoped! I have nothing bad to say about the business, i just wished i knew about my original problem before there opinion of a discovered problem. When it comes to customer service… they were the best, but now im out of almost 1000 for something that my original mechanic would of done for 350 and i would of only paid for the transmission being looked into. At the end of the day, i got new back breaks and im only paying 800 out of pocket. So i guess in the end...
