Fernwood General Store — Local services in Monterey

To be very honest, I didn’t want to give this place a 5 star because the barista here (slim black girl) was super unwilling to do her job. I asked her a question and she didn’t even want to answer. I got a chai and she made it super terrible. It was just bland milk.

I practically grew up in Big Sur, I spent 10 years doing Stage Kids just a minute around the corner from here. Best burger in possibly the world but all their food is incredible. The inside has changed several times over the years but the outside and the feeling stays the same. It is homey. Out the back door you can go down the stairs and explore the campgrounds as well as the indescribable scenery from the trees...

Great store with a great restaurant and patio outback. Pizza and sweet potato fries were amazing. The campground was beautiful right on the river.
