Jefferson Square — Local services in Monticello

Stripmall in a small, rural town with lots of empty shops. Landscaping is weak, lighting is adequate. No bums but some occasional obnoxious ghetto kids, it's a little too close to a bad neighborhood and the security cameras are non-functional. Owership does not invest in your safety but at least the parking area is well viewable from the road and the local cops do eyeball the place frequently. Just outside of the commonly walked portion by the grocery, it's too trashy, unpleasant for pedestrian traffic. The Winn Dixie and the Auto Parts shop way on the other end are very well run and staffed but they get their own review so I won't credit this strip-mall for their quality, nor the good quality of the policing. It's a shame and foolish since this town is otherwise slowly...

I just use the Winn-Dixie and the liquor store. It's clean and taken care of. The staff is always full of hellos and can I help yous so that's a plus. The liquor store there is good too. Better than having to get in there car after shopping and drive across the street to use...
