Community College of Vermont (CCV) - Montpelier & Administration — Local services in Montpelier

CCV’s courses are fantastic. My experience is within their online classes mostly, and I have nothing but good things to say about their academics, hence at least two stars.

My issue with CCV (Montpelier), and the reason I’ve taken three stars away, comes in with meetings and registering for courses.

Nearly every single meeting I have made with an advisor has been cancelled, rescheduled or missed by the advisor. I am almost always called the day before, late in the day, to tell me my meeting has been cancelled for whatever reason. I am unable to answer because it is during my work hours.

Numerous times the advisor completely missed our meeting with no explanation or contact. This is, to put it lightly, frustrating. It feels as if my time is not valued- I work, and flaking on a meeting set up around my schedule makes a huge mess of my day, and postpones questions and concerns that I may have. I’m more than aware that CCV values their students, but this contradicts that in nearly every manner.

Highly recommend CCV for the courses- but they need to solve this problem before they start...

I used to like this school. I went here for years, trying to finish my degree. Then last year I took a class where the teacher would be there for 30 minutes and leave. I spoke with my adviser, who told me: "you need to get used to different learning styles." What a joke. I paid 700 bucks for a guy not to teach me anything. I didn't get a full refund either. Later I decided to try again with an online class. The teacher can't use moodle worth jack. He had some threads that didn't include everyone, and it had important info. He didn't answer my messages until after things were due. He would just start doing things when I was trying to take a quiz so I'd miss the cut off. because I couldn't access it. Then had different days and times for due dates for one project so you never knew what to go by. I only give it the extra star to make it 2 stars because I used to like it. I don't even know if I'm going to finish my degree, I'm a good student who gets good grades and wants to learn. I just don't want to waste all the...
