"I know I have a lot of clothes, but I still have nothing to wear." This was the text on a shirt I used to own. I loved it because it described me so perfectly. I no longer own nor identify with that shirt because Pamela Etzin at An Eye For Detail solved that problem for me, permanently!

I can't recommend Pam's services enough. She takes the stress out of shopping and of getting dressed. She listens to you - what you're looking for, what you like, and what you don't like.

In my first session with Pam, she spent several hours with me going through my closet/wardrobe. She helped me figure out which clothes to 'purge' - those that were outdated, didn't fit well, and/or weren't a good color/style on me. It really helped to have someone give me that extra reassurance about whether something was worth keeping or not. I never felt pressured to get rid of something I really liked (one of my worries going into the session). For the clothes that I decided to keep, she helped me sort between "work" and "weekend" and helped organize my clothes and accessories to make it easier to put together complete outfits. She also pointed out that I was lacking some "basics" (e.g., solid shirts!) that would allow me to mix and match, so we set a date to go shopping.

My second session with Pam lasted another few hours, this time at the outlets in Tinton Falls, NJ. I ended up buying over 60 items in a massive wardrobe refresh that was surprisingly affordable! We achieved the goal of supplementing my closet with some basic shirts, jackets/blazers, cardigans, and sweaters that I could pair with work pants, jeans, or skirts to get a variety of different looks. We also found some jewelry to accent the outfits and some other great pieces, like dresses that I could dress up or down.

Most importantly, Pam helped me choose clothes that fit my body type and go with my skin tone, which wasn't something I really had thought about but which makes SUCH a difference! She taught me which color groups to stay away from and which were good for me. When I shop now, I still hear her voice in my head when I try on something that I really like but just isn't right for me, as well as when I find something that's a great color and fit. Pam also helped find clothes that fit my style, even if I can't articulate what my style actually is. She pushed me slightly out of my comfort zone when trying things on, but I never felt pressured to buy something that didn't feel like something I would wear or that pushed the limit on my budget. I therefore didn't end up with any buyer's remorse, despite the huge haul of clothing and accessories. Instead, I ended up with a great wardrobe and great mentality with which to shop going forward.

So, I am graduating college going to start a new job soon and had essentially no wardrobe because pracademic me was not exactly a professional dresser. I really was in a point of feeling not too happy with the way I look because of the weight gain and really having no fashion sense to help me make the best of my appearance. I had the idea of hiring a stylist for MONTHS and I could not find something that gave me the push to go out and do it. I would always think “well that’s a lot of money” or “I don’t think I’m ready or will it make that big a difference?”. The moment I found Pam’s company I was just like “go for it!”, mind you I had been looking for months and saw stylist after stylist-but Pam was the only one I felt that I must try. My consultation with her was through but relaxing I did not feel nervous at all and was so excited to meet her. When we did go on our shopping trip, she brought me outfit after outfit and taught me everything about what too look for-understanding fit and how clothes hang on the body. It was probably the first time I have ever enjoyed a shopping trip. That the thing it was fun! I enjoyed it and Pam felt like a long-lost friend I always had. I enjoyed every outfit we have picked out and have worn them a ton of different ways-no one can tell I have been re-wearing things because of how great the mixing and matching is. On to part 2- now my I wore an outfit to lunch with my dad and he was absolutely floored at how put together I looked for the first time in my life (as he put it lol) So I set him up an appointment with Pam too! And the same thing she was able to completely transform him, and he was so excited about his clothes- he was standing up straight and was so proud of his new appearance. Next up is my mom and all my friends! I could not be happier that I chose to go with Pam my fellow fire sign-seriously I found a wonderful stylist but better a great friend. She really will have your best interest at heart and make you look like the best version of yourself. You could not make a better choice. I would give her 10 million stars but 5...

For someone who despises shopping & gets easily overwhelmed with clothing choices (yet still desires to have a fashionable style)—Pam is like a breath of fresh air! I knew from the moment I found her website that I wanted to use her services, which was confirmed when we spoke during the free phone consultation she offers.

Pam is a workhorse! She pre-pulled clothes for me at the mall before I even got there. Once I was in the dressing room, she was constantly running out to get different sizes, colors, styles, etc. Best of all, she was there to help come to conclusion on what the very best pieces were. As we navigated between stores, we were constantly talking about our mission: my new wardrobe. She basically eliminated all the parts about clothes shopping that I can’t stand, and she served all the style up to me on a platter… Beautiful!!

I walked out feeling empowered, sophisticated, and educated as to how to mix and match the lovely pieces she found. Now that I’m on my own figuring out how to make my new wardrobe work, Pam will sometimes continue to avail herself when I text clothing questions & pictures. She’s a wealth of fashion info!

All along, Pam has listened well to what I'm looking for. She is attentive & observant, generous with her time, she adapts in the moment, and she is not afraid to give her honest opinion. It is obvious that Pam is passionate about style and that she loves to see her clients satisfied. Not to mention, she is fun to hang out with...Productive AND fun!
