My husband and I hired Positively Delightful Meals for our wedding day on September 27th in NC, and let me tell you, we truly couldn’t have asked for a better caterer. Chef Matt and his team did not disappoint. From our very first phone call, Chef Matt made it clear that our wedding was his top priority. He was incredibly attentive, listened closely to our needs, offered thoughtful suggestions, and made planning our menu an exciting experience rather than a stressful burden. Chef Matt’s professionalism, passion for food, and warm personality instantly put us at ease.
For our menu, we chose the Tuscan chicken and steak as our entrees, and roasted potatoes and rice pilaf for the sides. For appetizers, we went with the zucchini fritters and the bacon-wrapped scallops. Chef Matt also provided two signature beverages: mandarin-infused sweet tea and homemade strawberry lemonade. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was phenomenal. Everything was brought and cooked fresh at our venue. The chicken was so flavorful and tender, and the potatoes were seasoned to perfection. Chef Matt even made his famous mac n cheese recipe for the kids! We also had some vegetarian guests at our wedding, so Chef Matt and his crew went out of their way to plate a special entree for them; roasted gnocchi and brussel sprouts with lemon vinaigrette. Complimentary coffee and bread were also included. For dessert we had freshly torched crème brûlée— hands down the best I’ve ever had! Every bite of every dish was crafted with impeccable precision, quality, and care.
And on top of all that, a couple months before the wedding, Chef Matt drove two hours—from Tennessee to North Carolina—just to personally cook for us for a menu tasting. That level of dedication and commitment meant the world to us. We are so grateful for all of his hard work and time in making our wedding day unforgettable. Chef Matt is not only an incredibly talented chef, but also a genuine, kind, and thoughtful person at heart. His entire team carried that same level of warmth and professionalism throughout the entire day. If you’re looking for a caterer to exceed your expectations and who goes above and beyond in every possible way, Positively Delightful Meals is the one to choose! They truly live up to their name— you will be...
Read moreMy husband and I had Chef Matt cater our wedding yesterday, we had asked him to prepare a taco buffet with two proteins (chicken and beef) for 130 guest. We had 80-90 guest attend at the actual wedding and by the 4th table, queso was already out. My husband and I stepped out to take photos and a guest came out and said they were out of protein and many people had not eaten. I addressed this to Chef Matt who in turn said they had, I then addressed my guest themselves to ask and there were 15 or so guest that said there was no protein when they went through along with previous guest before them that only a few had gotten small portions. Once again, I spoke with Chef Matt and he then stated that there were guest in the beginning who were getting heaping portions. All while I understand that can cause an issue, we already should have had a surplus of leftover due to the amount of guest that didn’t attend from the numbers provided to him. Along with this, we paid for extra kitchen staff that could easily have assisted with portion control while being able to maintain the buffet food as they were. Chef Matt did express his apologies and offered solutions to get more protein. In return, we just settled for a partial amount taken off. The food was very good and while we had very strong hope because of the kindness we received prior to the wedding, it was very disappointing at what resulted. I just hope the can be an opportunity to learn and for it not to happen to anyone else...
Read moreWow, and not the good kind.
We have a football family of 60 people in Gatlinburg for tournaments. We decided to pursue a caterer to ease our commitment to the trip and have Thanksgiving dinner prepared for us.
Frustration and disappointment is the most appropriate words to use for the way I and many of our group feel right now toward our Thanksgiving meal we paid for.
Original time was 330-4pm food got prepared and ready to be served.
Morning of this changed to 230 arrival to deep fry our turkeys on site, 2 baked previously and ready to eat.
Numerous calls later, we find he's truly running behind. He arrived at 350pm with 4 raw turkeys.
Deep frying was difficult as they were the plug in variety and didn't cooperate well. Things happen, but the frustration was already there.
We had fractions of servings of Cranberry sauce and gravy, many families didn't receive any. No rolls.
The first turkeys took almost 2 hours. Families finally began eating around 535, until we ran out of turkey. At 7 pm the remaining turkeys were done but the amount that was edible after being cut l, determined to be undone, then re fried, etc.
We're very understanding and reasonable people, but the amount of excuses and avoidable mishaps led us to this review.
Next year, we'll be preparing...
