We took a floor length homecoming dress here on Monday at 10am (opening) for an alteration. She marked the dress which had a tulle portion and a cotton portion underneath. The intent was to end up with a dress that was knee length. The charge would be $50 since It was a ârushâ job. A rush job to cut a dress in 4 days? Upon calling on Thursday at lunch, it wasnât ready but she said that she would have it done and wait on us to pick up after work. When we arrived the dress was cut uneven (shorter in back) and the tulle portion looked jagged. I assume it was done with scissors and no board based on appearance alone. The dress was too short and I accepted that maybe my wife gave her improper measurements. She still charged me the $50 for this less than stellar work which was done sometime between 10&5 four days after dropping it off. My wife put the dress on at home to see if the cut was where measured. It WASNT CLOSE. We shouldnât have paid for this at all, much less $50. We could have accomplished the same quality of work in 20 minutes with a $10 pair of scissors. We do not recommend this very friendly lady or her business to do your alterations. We will obviously take our business elsewhere and recommend you...
Read moreI paid $160.00 for prom dress alterations. When I picked up the dress, the hem of the outer silk layer was cut jagged, and sewn to the next layer of the dress. Rather than press the hem, she left it so that the dress created a "bubble" all the way around. I noticed it immediately but it was so much more noticeable when my niece put it on. When I told the owner/seamstress that she would need to press the hem,she told me that she had already pressed it. This was an obvious lie. The dress looked awful. She told me to leave her store and refused to press the hem. She told me she was tired of customers complaining. I'm sure she receives many complaints. Please do NOT take your garments to this woman. She has no idea what she is doing and refuses to make it right if you bring it to...
Read moreI wanted something custom made for my dog to wear on his visits as a Therapy Dog. I already had a pattern. She said she most certainly could do it. First, it was prom season and all the prom dresses had to be taken care of. Then it was holidays and all the holiday dresses had to be taken care of. Then who knows. It was a paying job and I'll never understand how every other job that came in after mine automatically got a higher priority. Never once did she call me to say "I'm just not going to do it". Never once did she call me at all. Every time I called I got excuses. Finally I said "just give me back the pattern peice" and she agreed that was best. Not even an apology when I...
