Court Street Grill — Restaurant in Moulton

I came by the Court Street Grill to have dinner with a couple of friends before going to a high school football game in Moulton. This seemed to be the best restaurant in town according to the reviews that I read. I will say that I want disappointed. When going to a new restaurant I always like to ask the server what they're known for. Here the answer was Shrimp & Grits. I'm going there Keto diet, so that was out for me. But my buddy did order it. It looked fantastic. I got a taste of the shrimp and cheese. Yeah, that's good stuff.

I had the ribeye steak, medium-rare, with creamed spinach. Allow me to start with the spinach. It comes often baked in a crockery dish with the creamy spinach in it and converted with a layer of cheese. The cheese was melted, brown and bubbly. I highly recommend it as a side. My steak was well seasoned and had a great flavor to it. Unfortunately I have one complaint about restaurant steaks. They aren't thick enough. This steak was about 1/4" thick. Sure it took up most of the plate. But at that thin it's impossible to cook a steak medium rare. At best it was medium well. I ate it. I enjoyed it. But I won't recommend it or get it again. I prefer a steak with less spread and more thickness. I understand why they do this. They can get the steak out of the kitchen quicker if it's thin.

I still give them for stars for quality of the food. Just don't order a steak if you are like me and want...

First and last time...service was horrible and slow. We sat there while two groups of people finished their meals and left before we did; a party of 60 in the back is what we were told was the delay for our food, however it didn't affect the others that came in after us. If you have a party that large and you know service will be slow, please let customers know before they are seated so they can make the decision to stay or go. Then it took 15 min for someone to take our order, but yet one lady walked past us 3 times waiting on table behind us. Asked for Mt. Dew, got a Pepsi, asked for ranch, got honey mustard, asked for plain potatoes, got loaded, asked for a German chocolate fried pie with ice cream, got a pecan fried pie (no chocolate anywhere in it) with no ice cream. Paid too much for such a bad experience....

Center of Moulton on the Courthouse Square, Court Street Grill is a great place for gatherings. Try there Black and Blue Burger or Mushroom Burger and top them a trip to the Burger Bar. Soup and Salad menu is diverse with all dressing made in house-the Strawberry Vinaigrette is sweet and tangy. The steak or shrimp kabobs are cooked to perfection. For fish lovers, the fried Catfish is crispy on the outside seasoned well with moist tender fish inside. Not ready for a meal, then just stop in for coffee and fried pie. The have a variety, but my favorites are the Strawberry, Pecan and Blueberry. But there is a list to choose from. The atmosphere is great for a small family gathering or large group. Service was and is superior as the owner/manager and staff all cater to every customer. Definitely worth a few...
