My wife and I were searching and searching for new living room furniture. We must have visited 5 or 6 large furniture stores; however, nothing met our expectations for quality and comfort at the same time. It was strange as they seemed to be mutually exclusive. Then we found Hansen Interiors online and went to the store in Mt Pleasant, WI (just about 20 minutes from Kenosha, WI). Initially we met with Alex at the store and looked at everything in the store...they have a huge showroom. Alex took his time and we left after an hour or so to go home and make some decisions. Within a week we went back and ordered a Stressless chair with the comfort control, two love seats and four dining room chairs. As the furniture is made in Oslo, Norway we knew it would take a couple of months for delivery. Last week Alex called and told us our order was in and ready for delivery...WOW...almost a month early. When they delivered the furniture, Alex came to the house and ensured that everything was good and met our expectations. Let me say this, I have never been so satisfied with our purchase. Alex went over everything and the delivery was perfect - not a scratch on anything. Overall, the quality of Stressless furniture is second to none. Hansen Interiors and Alex are awesome. We...
Read moreThese are very nice people and the chair I bought is relatively nice, but for $3,500 I don’t expect this switch to keep on breaking. I would never buy anything mechanical from them again. My time is precious and this chair is dangerous for my 5 year old daughter. I was worried about it just automatically closing and crushing her when she’s on it. I honestly can't remember but now they have to come out for either a fourth or fifth time to fix the same problem.
Update 4/11/24 The latest switch they put in is now broken! My recliner is fully locked in the open position. This might be the 5th time the chair will need to be repaired. So now the dilemma, do I call them or just go to Home Depot and buy a $3 switch at Home Depote and put it in myself? With the amount of time I have put into this chair, they owe me about $1000.
Update 5/23/25 The reclining part of my chair was deemed unfixable. So, they did replace it with a matching Ottoman. I do give them an A for customer...
Read moreWe have gotten too used to buying cheap furniture, disposing of it, and then repurchasing it. AND, we have decided it's ok to have us build everything ourselves. Hansen's is where we should be shopping. They carry and amazing selection, and what they have in the showroom is just a small example of the fabrics/colors that each piece is available in. Their furniture has a modern slant, but it's Scandinavian modern so it's not cold and angular, but warm and with a liberal use of natural materials. The pieces my family have purchased have all lasted for a long, long time (some pieces over 10 years now), and the buying experience is always comfortable, helpful, and low key. It's worth spending more on a piece, and keeping it forever, and with the styles available and the quality here, it's easy to build up your house and still be...
