VERBALLY ABUSED BY OWNER 🚨….Owner is horrible at his job. horrible communication skills, especially for (from the looks of it ) a 50 year old man, and veteran. Me and my girlfriend got a membership and have been going and had no problems for about 2.5 weeks. today my dad was wanting to go with me and check it out and see if he wanted to get a month membership as-well ( because we enjoyed it and had hyped it up) but they do not have day passes or staff ever at all. so i figured i already pay for me and her ill just take him with me substituted like most normal gyms allow, (and if against the rules i understand, but i had not read the rule sheet) not thinking it would be a big deal at all i scan in per usual and some big heavy set man yells at me asking me for my name, ( not even stating hes the owner, could of been anyone) i proceed to state my name and tell him everything i just said above, stating we can leave and or pay to come in, no big deal if possible. very politely. He started screaming and blowing up on me and my dad proceeding to say i was robbing him and his business and literally screaming at me in front of his gym. ofc which no one seen because the gym and parking lot is always empty ( wonder why…) so as any normal person would i asked if i could get a refund because i do not and will never accept anything like that especially when I'm a customer. he proceeded to scream at me and told me to text him my name and he would refund me and cancel my membership. i said okay and got into my car and texted him my name and he proceeded to text back “ You have been kicked out for bringing in a non member. You are not going to be given a refund. If you want To make an issue of it I will press charges for theft of service. It’s posted all over the gym to not bring in a non- member. you get an email about it.

im not worried about the gym it was really ran down and overpriced for what it is. the disrespect and not even trying to communicate and just screaming at me ( an unproblematic 19 y/o just trying to get a lift in btw being nice as could be ) is what did it for me . i get the rules etc and kicking me out and or even not giving me a refund is whatever, but the way he went about it was the most unprofessional thing me and my dad have ever seen in out life. do not go to this gym. go to king city, 618 fit, or even planet fitness. or just lift things around your house … anythings better than giving this man child your money… 50$ for a month pass and you get treated like dirt. the one time you even see the owner/ a staff at all.

if you see this man below make sure to run the other way unless you want verbally abused. dude has anger issues.

I Don't know how this place is open... open electrical receptacles everywhere.. Fire exits blocked... Broken equipment, Jimmy rigged machines...weights everywhere, he takes stuff all the time to Nashville location and leaves empty spots for the curl bars (can't change weights on these)... the owner can't even put batteries in remotes where the cardio equipment is... and let's not talk about the broken clock that's been gone for 8 months... a print out of a clock someone put in place of the real one for Inspiration for him to fix it... 8 months later it's not... 30 a month...

The Owner of Mount Vernon Fitness is Beyond rude and Disrespectful. I have family members and friends who no longer attend due to the disrespect and discrimination primarily aimed towards Black Male Patrons. As an owner of small business you should value ALL of your customers and not belittle and berate them. My family and I will be filing formal complaint with the Jefferson County Chamber...
