After reading prior reviews I was braced for anything.š¬ The first security shack you arrive at does not check in deliveries but you should stop and they will tell you where to go. Go across bridge, over RR tracks and turn sharp right. You will see a smaller guard shack. They will come out and meet you and tell you to stop at stop sign. You will need your drivers license and load info to include pick up number. Then you will be directed to pull up to a line just past the guard shack marked āBā and told not to go past the cone. Thatās probably because at some point you will need to do a u turn to back into the door. A safety vest is mandatory while out of the truck. You then take your paperwork into the receiving office which is to the left of the docks up the small set of stairs. (Security will point the way) The staff in the office will check you in then direct you down the stairs to wait in the warehouse behind the line (thereās a sign that states donāt go past that point). The supervisor will come over and tell you which door to back in, tandems back, doors open. There isnāt a ton of room but ample space for set up. I would say that everyone was very businesslike but not rude. The supervisor at the dock communicated with me several times on the position and weight of the load so he could make sure the truck wasnāt over gross. The ladies in the office were very warm and friendly. It was my first time there so I had questions and made a couple of mistakes as far as what I was supposed to be doing but they were understanding. When they are done loading, they will bring paperwork out to you and you have to return to the office to finalize everything. You will need your drivers license again. When you leave stop your trailer doors open and even with the guard shack so that they can check inside and then see that the seal is on. Itās a huge beautiful property and I was kind of excited to see the Jim Beam distillery. Itās my brothersā favorite drink so I sent him some āha ha look where Iām atā pics š. Now that I know what the procedures are for picking up a load there, I wouldnāt mind returning! Especially since Iām normally assigned loads in the northeast and it was so nice to come down...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMaybe the most unpleasant place to deal with to pick up a load. Signage to the shipping office is almost nonexistent, security is very unfriendly, the shipping office is unfriendly, the warehouse guys are even worse. You feel like you are trying to gain entry to a military base, but you're under suspicion of treason or something. It isn't even good whiskey for crying out loud! I will never pick...
