This restaurant was located right by the American Outpost building. If you have the chance to take a tour at the James B. Beam Distilling Co., this would be an excellent stop to squash your belly down with some food and maybe even some more bourbon. I came here with my parents, my significant other, and my dog.
I ordered a Diet Coke and a Jim Beam Highball. The Diet Coke was good. The Highball had Jim Beam Bourbon, Soda Water, and Citrus in it. It was a crisp and refreshing drink. I think it blended well.
For food, my significant other and I shared The Kitchen Table Burger and the Pepperoni Pizza. The Kitchen Table Burger came with white cheddar, hickory sauce, garlic aioli, fries. The Pepperoni Pizza had mozzarella, calabrian chilis, hot honey.
The Burger was a smash burger and dang, it was awesome! The fries came in a cool metal container alongside the Burger and I was even given ketchup on the side. They were good! The Pizza seemed so unique, yet so tasty! The spice was present the whole time. I loved it. I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t please every mouth, especially since it kicked mine around a bit. That made it more original in my opinion, though.
Our server was fantastic. She brought everything we needed in a timely manner. I sure was impressed.
Overall, I feel this restaurant is a must if you had the pleasure of doing the tour beforehand. Even if you’re not going to do the tour, I’d still say you should try this joint out if you can. My parents joined us and they didn’t participate in the tour. I don’t have a single complaint about this place. If I’m in Kentucky soon, I’ll probably crave it!

Read moreWe had a great experience at The Kitchen Table after our 8 generation tasting. Started with the pulled pork empanadas and garlic parm fries. Delicious, the empanadas were seasoned great, crispy and the sauce they're served in was spicy (great for dipping the fries in too). The garlic parm fries were incredible, garlicky with lots of fresh shaved parmesan on top. They would have been better and elevated the flavor if they served it with a lemon and herb aoili but I dipped them in the sauce from the empanadas which was "stupid good" as my father in law said. For our main meals we got the brisket, ribs, fried catfish, pizza, burger and Kentucky burgoo. The burgoo was really tasty, lots of tender meat in a delicious broth with beans, collards and corn, a must try while in Kentucky. The brisket and grits were phenomenal, super tender with a great sauce. The grits were cheesy and added a level of complexity to the sweetness of the brisket sauce. I liked the fried catfish but wish it had come with a slice of lemon to add a level of acidity to it, the potatoes were flavorful and the coleslaw added a great crunch, I just wish the fish itself was slightly more seasoned. The ribs were tasty, and burger was out of this world. All in all a great experience with some incredible food and drinks, I don't think you can have a bad meal here or...
Read moreRecently took a trip to Louisville for my birthday. We did the Jim Beam tour and thought if the restaurant was part of the property it must be good. Of all the restaurants we ate in during our 5 days in louisville, the Kitchen was the most expensive and, by far, the worst. We ordered pork rinds, a burger, pork sliders with a side of fries and one soda. Somehow they have now taken $63 out of my bank account for these simple things. The pork rinds were cold, HARD and tasteless. I asked the server, he said they make them in the morning. My husband's burger was nothing fancy. The burgers at burgers and mussels were MUCH better and cheaper. The meat in my pork sliders was stone cold. I asked the server and he brought some new ones. They tasted like the type of pulled pork you buy in the refrigerator section and heat in the microwave. I had this gigantic plate of fries that were cold so I barely ate any of them. For my trouble with the pork sliders they brought out four bourbon balls. They were dry and bourbon flavored, all at once. Never, ever again would I eat at this place and I'm thoroughly disgusted that I wasted my birthday dinner on such horrible, expensive food. Save your money and go...
