Wright County Livestock Auction — Local services in Mountain Grove

I sat, watched and wrote down prices in comparison to a few other barns . This barn seems to be more about meat more than color of Beef cattle , which is great . So tired of barns trying to get more for black. Just because its black doesn't mean it's all beef cattle or angus . Mine are all beef cattle just not all are black . Will be selling tomorrow so we will see . Praying this will be my go to barn for my cattle in the future.

Update : Everyone is super friendly Prices are close to same as other barns maybe a little better on red. Give more for black, even if its the smallest one in bunch . They need to ask breed at time of drop. To me cross mixed is like dairy - cross. I'm learning as I go . I dont have anything with dairy . Not in any hurry to go back. Only reason for 2 stars is because the folks at the buyer/seller table were extremely cordial, otherwise the rest was just a circus. Guy selling the new tack takes great pride in bullying the buyers. Auctioneer was dragging his feet getting thru all of it. Changed auctioneers for the horses and was quite evident the old dude was trying to sell fast so his horse trader buddies could get bargains. He wouldn't read the full paperwork on the horses being sold that probably could have helped the sellers get more money. He even lost track of the horses he was selling and was reading website descriptions for horses that weren't even in the sale ring. ...

Called and ask about the 5 dollar mandatory seat charge plus commission was told there would be no commission when I picked up my check there was a 25% commission. I will not attend another exotic sale here. The regular sale is wonderful this is a great place to buy and sell livestock but no more...
