I have eaten Indian food all over the world, including multiple trips to India, so when I pulled up to âIndia Restaurantââinside an old gas station, no lessâI admit I was a bit hesitant. But let me tell you, my reservations quickly melted away with the first bite. This place serves some of the best Indian food I have ever had, hands down. Iâm still in awe.
The kind and attentive lady manning both the food counter and the gas station register was a delight. Despite juggling multiple tasks, she made sure we felt completely taken care of. Her warm demeanor set the tone for an incredible meal.
We decided to sample several dishes, and each one was piping hot, fresh, and bursting with flavor. It was hard to pick a favorite, but the Samosa Chaatâoh my goodness. It was mind-blowing! If we hadnât already ordered a variety of dishes, we could have easily made an entire meal out of just that. The combination of textures, the spice balance, the crunch of the samosaâit was an absolute knockout.
And letâs talk about the portions: they were incredibly generous. We walked out with leftovers that were just as exciting as the meal itselfâwe could hardly wait to get hungry again so we could dig back in!
If you're anywhere near this spot, you haveto stop in. The setting may surprise you, but the food will blow you away. Donât miss out on some of the best Indian cuisine youâll ever have, tucked away in the last place youâd expect. âIndia Restaurantâ is an...

I ordered butter chicken which was served in a pretty metal crock with a generous serving of perfectly prepared rice. My husband had Tandoori Mixed Grill that was honestly enough food that we should have shared it â and had we not been traveling we would have packed that and my butter chicken up to go so we didnât miss out on savoring any bites! It was AMAZING!
The kids opted for burgers or sides of rice and some naan. I would be hard pressed to choose if the garlic naan or the keema naan was better but both were delectable.
We will...
Read moreNot much in the way of ambiance--it's a gas station/convenience store/restaurant along the freeway, BUT their Indian Food was awesome. I came upon Kountry Xpress by total accident. I stopped for gas and a candy bar. When I went in, I noticed they had Chicken Masala for sale, next to fried chicken, etc. When I asked if they had other Indian Food, they gave me a menu. I chose the Lamb Vindaloo and some Palak Paneer. It was delicious! It was extremely fresh, made to order. Such a treat, and tucked away at Exit 20 from I-40 in Mulberry Arkansas. You've gotta try this place next time you go to or from...
