I am going to be very honest in this review. Long review short: the food is delicious, the people are nice, it’s expensive, and the atmosphere is atrocious. But would I recommend it, even with the negatives? Yes, absolutely. Long review long: firstly, to clear any confusion, yes, this restaurant is in a gas station. And I mean a Rinky dink kind of gas station. Water stains on the ceiling and you’re sitting right next to slot machines. So in terms of vibe, 3/10. I have seen worse gas stations and nasty restaurants in my time. The employees were friendly but exactly the kind of person you would expect to work at a gas station ( sorry, that’s a little harsh ). Everyone in this place looked like they were straight out of Central casting. Overall, friendly and good customer service plus the food came out in a timely manner so that gets a 7.8/10. now moving onto the star of the show, the food. for dramatic effect, my credentials are as follows: I grew up in northern California, specifically San Francisco Bay area, where there is a prominent Indian population and hundreds of amazing Indian restaurants. My family loves Indian food and I ate it all the time growing up and into my adulthood. I’ve traveled all around the world and tried Indian food from some of the best places you can find it, including London and of course, India. I went on multiple food tours throughout India and I have to say that Punjabi cuisine is my absolute favorite. All that said, I’m not gonna lie, the food gagged me a lil ( and if you don’t know, that’s slang for surprisingly really good). I was going to get one of the lamb dishes but it cost $17 or $18 so instead I got the chicken korma, which cost $14. (a lil expensive for a gas station imo) I feel like if an Indian restaurant can’t get a chicken korma right then I wouldn’t trust the rest of their menu anyways so it’s a good baseline to judge off of. It was delicious and the chicken was SO moist and just fell apart at the touch of your spoon. The naan was average (a lil burnt), but average naan is still delicious. I also got a veggie Samosa that I dipped in the purple chutney (one of my favorite Indian foods) and that was also delicious. You could tell it was made fresh and wasn’t too oily. I got a hot chai and it came out before I got my food. By time I got my food, finished my meal, paid, left and drove down the road, the chai was still too hot for me to drink. Is this slightly annoying? Yes. Is this a green flag? Also yes. The best chai is always scolding hot for about 15 minutes before you could even attempt to drink it lol. So for taste, I give the food a 9.2/10. A few random observations: it occurred to me that I don’t think I have ever been in a gas station for over five minutes and I have to say, sitting there by myself in silence while I waited for and then ate my food was just a sort of weird experience. I mean after all, no one’s bored on a Friday night and it’s like “hey! Let’s go chill in a small town gas station with liminal vibes!”. I’m assuming this place is family owned on some level and that’s a large reason why I wanted to write this review. I’m enthusiastic about supporting small businesses and community. The place wasn’t busy when I went there but there were a couple different Indian people that came through and I got the vibe that this is the place where a lot of Indian families come. I even spoke to one person and she goes there all the time but she doesn’t even live in the city. She drives there from Fayettville. Indian approved Punjabi food, green flag. I road trip from Fayettville to Memphis fairly often and from now on, if I have the time, I will definitely be stopping here as I pass through. not only is my car full of fuel, but so...
Read moreAfter reading some of the reviews, especially in regards to the atmosphere, I was picturing the worst. Yes, it's an old gas station/convenience store/restaurant, and certainly not a fancy datenight spot. However, it was clean, no foul odors and frankly I have seen FAR worse at actual stand alone exclusively just restaurants.
As soon as I walked in the door, not when I got close enough to her, but as soon as I walked in she greeted me earnestly and genuinely. As I approached her she asked what I wanted and offered to show me a menu. I didn't need it, as I already knew that I wanted to try Aloo Ghobi for my first time, as well as taste how their veggie samosa compared to the Indian restaurant/truck stop in Vega, TX. She told me that it would be approximately 15 minutes because it's fresh made. True to her word, she brought the food to the table in roughly that time span. The food did not disappoint me one bit! The Aloo Ghobi was an excellent mix of flavor, texture and spice. Along with the samosa, came two small containers of sauce, a green chutney and a dark (possibly dates) fruity (not too tangy or sweet) sauce. I hope to be through this area again quite soon!
P.S. When I was finished, I approached the counter where another woman was standing in order to state my grateful appreciation for the Aloo Ghobi, she smiled with pride and...

TL:DR This authentic Indian Restaurant tucked away in an unassuming gas station makes some of the best food you will ever have. You won't regret trying it - don't sleep on the garlic naan or chicken tikka masala!
Details: You wouldn't expect it when you approach this normal looking country gas station, but just wait!
We came in on the way through because we had seen something online, and I'm so glad we stopped!
We ordered the chicken tikka masala, chicken 65, and garlic naan. Everything was made fresh for us, and came out hot and smelling amazing.
From first bite to last, it was so delicious. Deep, rich flavor in the tikka masala, and the spices for the chicken 65 were perfect.
The naan was incredible, and there was so much we both had a full meal for the next day.
The people working there are kind and helpful, and so conscientious. Love it!
