Avoid this company. Low quality pool cues, horrible service.
Bought a well treated used GLD Viper Elementals cue in excellent condition. This is one of GLD products' middle ground pool cues that normally sells about $100. It turned out to be defective. Could not use it initially as it made a horrible click sound when hitting the cue ball. Sounded like it was cracked or something but no cracks anywhere. Reached out to GLD for help and to maybe buy a replacement shaft. The customer service person could care less and was not helpful at all. Shaft was out of stock but the customer svc person did not want to provide info when the shaft would be back in stock. Low quality cue and terrible customer service.
Also, a family member got a new GLD Viper cue but it was one of their upper priced cues selling for over $200. The cue had straightness problem defects and it should have been caught with even the simplest of inspections or quality controls. It is expected that a manufacturer would not sell cues this defective to customers. They just seem to have quality control problems there products. The joint was out of whack slightly causing the top of the butt and bottom of the shaft to not match up properly, and the shaft itself was slightly crooked too.
When conducting their lifetime warranty claim, they said they would warranty the cue under the limited lifetime warranty. But then they would not communicate back proactively and it required close to two months of following up with them. Seemed like they were ignoring the customer hoping he would go away. Then after lots of followups they finally said they would warranty it but the customer needs to pay shipping, and there is no guarantee they would actually fulfil the warranty pending their determination. They already failed to provide a properly inspected cue, caused the customer to lose faith in them during a horribly managed warranty approval initiation, wasted the customers time, and now they tell the customer to pay shipping and that they might not even honor the warranty after they inspect it. It was decided GLD can't be trusted and who wants to waste more time and money shipping the cue stick just to hear they don't want to honor their warranty. Potentially you could pay for shipping and they could make up a lame excuse to not honor the warranty. Then the customer has to make a decision if they even want to ship the defective cue back or not. Terrible quality and service for a cue over $200.
Avoid GLD products including Viper cues. Go with Players or Valhalla cues. They are higher quality and have better prices / value, service, and reputation with...
Read moreI purchased the Viper 777 from Amazon, and after I hung it up and put batteries in to play I could never get the sound to come on. I tried replacing the batteries but didn`t fix the problem. I contacted the customer service and sent them what they needed. I wish all companies where as helpful as they were. Stacy contacted me and said they were sending a new one! which it arrived and works well. Thank you for the support and a company that backs there product!! I am well appreciated and would definitely purchase products from the company. Thanks...

Customer service is very poor so hopefully your item comes without any problems or you can just plan on paying for something that never comes and...
