Regarding Service/Invoice #9812053 Repair occured on 08-01-25
If I could give a lower rating on this company I absolutely would. This is nothing against our service tech. This review is against the company as a whole, as I'm sure what I was told by our tech is controlled by company "leaders".
The tech came to repair an LG washer that was not draining properly. He quickly assessed the issue and discovered that the drain pump had been damaged by a small piece of metal. Where I became completely disappointed by Mr. Appliance is what our tech told us next...
Our tech told us it would be approximately $500 to replace the pump. The tech claimed....insisted...that the pump alone was $350. He claimed you cannot get the part unless you're a licensed repair company. He claimed LG doesn't sell their parts to DIY repair suppliers. He claimed that the part was so expensive because you have to replace the ENTIRE base of the washer. On top of this the rest of the cost is labor.
I immediately told the tech to leave the washer as it was and paid the $150 service fee and he left.
Why did I make this decision?
Everything the tech had told my wife and I was a bold faced LIE.
I found that genuine LG drain pump for $100 on a reputable DIY repair supplier website. You did NOT have to replace the entire base of the washer to complete this repair. Additionally the repair took me a total of 5 MINUTES and the washer was up and running again.
It appears what this company does is that they KNOW their customers are in a bind. They KNOW they can milk people for whatever cost they want to set who don't have the time and/or knowledge to source a repair part.
Now that in and of itself is not necessarily unethical but what I CANNOT accept is LIES! The tech lied to our faces. To be clear I do not believe this is the tech's personal choice. I believe this type of behavior is promoted by the company itself.
That said. Here is what I recommend if you use Mr. Appliance. Pay the service fee and let them diagnose the issue. Once you have the problem identified. you can find the part online and look up videos and/or instructions on how to repair it.
Mr. Appliance....do better. Questionable ethics is one things. Straight up lies is another thing entirely.

Read moreOur washing machine was having an error code over the weekend and they came out to fix it Monday morning. We ran one load okay, Tuesday night we ran a load of laundry and water started leaking everywhere, down to our basement causing at least $5000 in damages (wall, ceiling, electric fireplace, laptop, valuable artwork). A pipe from the back has come loose while they worked on it obviously from them pulling the washer out. They came back out, refused to take accountability, fix the washer, or give us any suggestions or apology. We paid $350+ for them to come âfixâ our washer the first time but really they created $5000+ in water damage and we have a broken washing machine. Warning- Do not use them! EDIT- they want to assume that randomly water was leaking beforehand but it just coincidentally full on started pouring out the day after they were working on the washing machine. Thatâs absolutely ridiculous. Your technician was back there, clear view and said NOTHING. We have videos of water pouring out right where the washer was. Your technician should have seen that (if it was so called slow leaking) and said something instead of repairing something different and saying itâs fixed with a 1 year warranty. Again- they do not want to take accountability! A washing machine pipe doesnât just start pouring out water when itâs never done that before 24 hours after a technician was back there clearing it. Take responsibility, pay back the $350+ that did nothing to fix our washer. Day 1 you shouldâve said use a plumber, not âitâs fixedâ so...
Read moreWe had a service done in June for a dish washer that was not draining. The service person, determined that the problem was not in the dishwasher but most likely in the dishwasher drain hose. It appeared that when it was installed, they had run the hose to the wrong place which resulted in a clog. It was a matter of taking off one hose clamp and moving the drain hose to the garbage disposal where it should have been in the first place. He agreed with the fix that I suggested and said he could not do that and we would need to call a plumber. Then gave us a bill for 157.50. In about 4 minutes, I was able to move the hose, without incident, and fix the problem.
I called the company right away and told the girl that we were unhappy that the guy did not fix the problem and charged us a full service call. It was unnecessary for us to have called a plumber and we felt that was not good service on his part.
Evidently they did call back at some point and I did not get the call, I just called back again....I had made it very clear when I had initially spoke with them that we felt that there should be a partial refund. Months later, as I have been very busy, The man that called me back this time said too much time had passed and in the end of the conversation said that ownership had also changed. He refused to make any concession. We were not looking for a full refund but something that shows good faith. Nothing was done.
