Despite very clear butchering instructions, our two pigs were not handled as directed. It's questionable whether we received all our meat, but how to prove it? Can't. We asked for everything back because we have a lot of other animals to feed. Specifically, the feet, ears, and everything useable, including bones, were to be returned to us. Two sizeable pigs and $350 later, we had far less meat than expected, and absolutely zero of the remainder of the animals. When we questioned Martin's about the missing items, we were assured they had not overlooked part of our order. When my boyfriend mentioned he's nearly out of law school, they suddenly discovered a box with our name on it. We drove to their other location to retrieve it. I normally give more stars than this, but I was dissatisfied with the seni annual chicken sale. We have ordered fresh chicken during the sale for several years... But this year we were sadly disappointed..... $200.00 worth of chicken thighs. That was two 40 lb. Boxes of meat. They were frozen, 2 solid boxes of ice!! Altogether! No four 10 lb bags of fresh chicken that we normally get! I tried thawing in the refrigerators that we had, but in the thawing process they were suspect. Ended up throwing them both out. I dont want to gamble with my family. Very disappointed and probably won't buy the chicken sale again. Very dissatisfied.... If I would have known they were solid blocks of ice, I would not...

Martin’s Custom Butchering is a family owned business that has been in the area for decades. Their select of beef, poultry and pork is not vast or fancy, but it is of high quality and fresh. The staff is always friendly and eager to help you. And they seem willing to customize your request which in my opinion, is the true definition of a butcher shop.

In addition the carry a good selection of frozen meat products as well. There is also a good selection of sauces and rubs to enhance your selection. However, the meat is so fresh, rubs and sauces are rarely needed.

Martin’s is off the beaten path, so keep an eye out for the sigh where to turn. You will not be disappointed...
