Taylor Made Jewelry — Local services in Nashville

My critique is limited to their secondary service,Trophy Shop Engraving. My experience began with four heavy stainless steel mess trays that I wanted to have engraved as a present. I walked into the store and was impressed by the samples of their engraving abilities. On the wall was a shotgun that was engraved on its receiver and stock with intricate, detailed design. There were ostrich eggs that were wonderfully etched. So I felt very comfortable giving them these stainless mess trays.

I brought the trays for the engraver to examen and measure, as I knew from their size that his jig might be challenged by its large size. He said that they were indeed large, but after taking them into the back area he assured me that though they would be tricky he would be able to manage. After a search for the font example sheets, we picked the script style and size. I explained that in the middle of the content there needed to a large asterisk (which is this * for those of you may have forgotten) separating the two words. All was written on a form with my name, address and phone number. He asked when I needed it completed and I said, "by the first" - which was about a week.

I went back on the 1st, which was on a Saturday. They were closed in honor of the holiday on Monday. That would have been nice to have known...

I went back two hours before closing on Wednesday the Fifth. They were indeed open and after I had given my name to lady behind the counter, she asked, "Did they call you?" "Uh...no. I didn't know they were supposed to." "Do you have the order receipt?" "Uh...no, I wasn't given one." "What were you having engraved?" I described them and she went in the back to check their status. She returned saying, "They're not done yet. He said that you can get them later or you can pick them up tomorrow." Uh-oh, I thought, they're not done and they're difficult to work with. I sure didn't want him rushing. "I'll pick them up tomorrow." I said, a nugget of concern growing in my stomach.

Today, Thursday the Sixth, I returned one hour before closing. The engraver was behind the counter. He politely but frankly said that he'd had trouble with the last one and that it had slipped. But the other three he'd been able to finish. He was sorry that the engraving wasn't as deep as he'd like, but he commented that it would last as long as the tray. My disappointment was cemented when I realized that the asterisk had been replaced by the AND symbol (&) - which radically changed the nature of...

I had heard that Taylor Made Jewelry was great but to experience for myself was something else. From the moment my daughter and I walked in, we were kindly greeted by two amazing women. They were attentive and polite and addressed all of our concerns. My jewelry was cleaned, pieces were repaired and all questions were answered with honesty. But that is not what impressed me the most. My daughter brought in a necklace for the cremation ashes of her grandmother who had recently passed away. Neither of us knew how to fill the necklace or felt comfortable doing it. The jeweler tenderly agreed to assist us and gently and patiently took her time ensuring that it was handled properly and reverently. It was very difficult for my daughter to see because it was the first time she had seen her grandmother's ashes since she had passed. The ladies were kind throughout the whole process and even after it was time for them to have closed they continued to slowly work to make sure the piece of jewelry was secure and honored in how it was handled. I have never been more impressed with an employee of a company nor a business. This is definitely a place you can trust! I went to Taylor Made Jewelry to have two rings cleaned and resized. One of which was very sentimental to me, seeing as it was my Nanas, who passed back in August. They are the only jeweler I would trust with that ring because they’re very respectful, honest, and careful with every piece that goes in and out of the store. I picked it up this morning, and as I tried it on for the first time in years, i teared up. It’s absolutely perfect. I genuinely want to thank Rachel for helping me out and doing such a great job! 💙 The prices are wonderful for the amazing service they provide! They previously fixed a bracelet of mine as well, so now I’m able to wear it after a year of the clasp being broken. I will definitely keep taking my business to them and refer as many friends as I can! They have gorgeous and GREAT quality jewelry (earrings, rings, bracelets, you name it...) for prices I haven’t been able to beat anywhere else! You’d be crazy to not go...
