Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Navarre

They are doing a great job of making the store look like you may want to shop there. At least the freezers have been replaced. The produce coolers are original from when it was an IGA back in the 60's or 70's. Most of the rotting smell is gone. Everyone I know uses the Dover store or other local grocery stores for the big shopping trip and use the Bolivar store to grab a couple things. I almost said quick, it's rarely quick. Out of the 5 registers there is one open and the line goes to the back of the store. Maybe if they build a nice store like the Strip or Green, more locals would actually...

A great location for me, it's local and the vibe there is local. Very friendly employees, seldom too busy. Very pricey compared to competitors. About one year ago, the Butcher there once told me that he does not observe the difference between the legal terms "Ground Beef", "Ground Round" , "Ground Sirloin" and so-on. Ahhhh I was really really shocked! I made certain that he knew these are all legal USDA terminologies that much be followed. He pretty much blew me off. I'm surprised that they don't even offer to put my groceries in the cart! I'm standing there paying for the groceries, getting my rewards card for the cashier; and before I know it, they're pushing me out of the way as more groceries from the next customer gets slid onto the belt. I was still struggling to put my card and wallet back into my purse. Shame on Giant Eagle for this lack of customer service. The cashier told me it's because the store is small. Really???
