Neosho National Fish Hatchery Visitor Center — Local services in Neosho

Would I return? Yes, and I do.

Today was a nice sunny visit riding in on motorcycles with a friend and his girlfriend who had not previously visited.

This hatchery is open FREE to the public.

Inside they have nice aquariums of native fish including Brown & Rainbow trout, bass, sturgeon, crayfish, etc.

Outside the hatchery pools are open to the public around which one may stroll and observe the trout.

The hatchery even provides FREE cups of food to feed the trout.

The park has covered pavilions and picnic tables should a group need where to sit, gather, and even grill.

If you have never been, this is pleasant National gem that is free to all, and one could easy spend a quick half...

Whenever it says national something I like to investigate. this fish hatchery has been operating since 1888. they're protecting two endangered species and breeding lots of others. they supply lots of trout and sturgeon in the local it lakes here . the staff was most informative to me, and helpful even in the face of 400 children during that day, Wow. the main fish basin was just filled with lovely trout the other three major basins where being worked on at the time and empty. the fish runs we're just stock full of beautiful fish and these guys look like they obviously know what they're doing. thank you for keeping our lake stocked and protecting the less...

Neat place to get outside and stretch your legs. Most of the informative signs outside are unreadable and definitely need replaced. A few of the interactive displays inside the visitor center are out of order and even though the visitor center was open, there was no worker to be found and the gift shop was closed, despite a sign saying it was supposed to be open. I may have just came during lunch hour or possibly the employee had to step out. I imagine there's more activity and employees on the weekends or...
