As someone who shops weekly for a family of 5, there are so many things this store could do better to win back my business. Take MOLDY produce off the shelves!! There is no reason mold and sad, soft, unsellable produce should still be on the shelf, yet I see it every time I go. MARK DOWN everything 2 days before it expires. (Especially fruit!! See #1). You could be saving a TON of money by selling everything that is about to expire by marking it down in half instead of tossing it. There is almost never anything marked down and I have often bought items that were already expired (breads, salad mix, old veggies). Smith's in Payson does a great job of this and I buy a ton of marked down items there and they make money instead of trashing it! Add some kid friendly aspects to your store. As moms are likely one of your primary customer base, you could do so much, like purchasing "car" carts that kids can drive while in the store, giving out free cookies at the bakery like Smith's does, giving away yellow bananas for free to the kids (another way to use old produce). Fixing the meat sale bin. Nebo market has great prices and selection on meat, and I buy them often, however never once have I seen something marked down in the sale meat section that wasn't already brown and rancid. You should be marking them down days before that happens and removing them from the shelves when they are clearly bad.
I offer these thoughts as a critique because I really DO want this store to be better! I don't want to keep having to drive up north just to get decent groceries! Hope to see some...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place used to be great. It seems like whatever they threw into the remodel, they took away from customer service and food quality.
I guess it depends on who's working at the deli counter, but you either get someone really chipper, or you get completely ignored. I didn't know stacking empty cups was more important than a line of customers. Or you're only allowed one thing out of the counter, then they walk away and disappear. The cashiers are nice people though.
But at least the fried chicken is out of this world, so that's a plus. Whoever is making the fried chicken needs to keep doing it because it's better than any other fried chicken I've had.
The food quality is garbage, too. Every time I walk in there, I see moldy fruit or vegetables. Sometimes even meat. How are you allowed to sell that? And when I told someone about it, they shrugged it off and walked away. Someone else told me they aren't allowed to put the fresh stuff out until they sell the rotten ones. And so many times I've bought something that goes rotten before the sell date. Maybe it's time to call the health department.
I've moved onto Smiths, I've never had these...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe market is way over priced, they price gouge, items are at least $10 more at the nebo market that any other store, they use current events to take advantage of people and jack their prices. They screw over locals and anyone passing through town, outrageous prices on the items even the cheap food club items. lots of items are expired, moldy, rotten, stale, Check out price does not reflect the ad price or price on shelf. The produce is nasty and rotten sometimes you have to ask for a price since it's not marked, when brought up to the produce manager standing by his little podium, if he's not too busy chatting up some female that walks by, or employee you get attitude, I found some very moldy items gave them to an employee and she took them waited for me to walk away and put them back on the shelf, caught employees hiding behind displays on the phones, And good luck using the internet in the store even the employess tells you good luck. The Corruption of management and owner and greed at its finest. And a few employees are lazy. They take advantage of the locals and anyone...
