I purchased a walnut fabric power sofa and recliner and the walnut dye bleeded all over my clothing and also my brand new drivers car seat. I contacted my local furniture store where I purchased this and homestretch told them I could return it. Local furniture store told me I could come back in and select another sofa and recliner of my choice. I decided to try another homestretch product which was a power sofa and recliner in gray leather. Come to find out that the gray dye was bleeding on my clothing again. Also my skin was sticking to the leather . I wiped off the dye on my skin using a hand towel. I had to start sitting on towels and sheets so I didn’t have any more color dye rub off on my clothing. The towels I sat on have color dye all over them. Homestretch needs to make sure whoever puts the dye on their fabric and leather furniture that it’s done properly to prevent rub off. It should not have happened with a fabric sofa and recliner and especially not a leather sofa and recliner. Leather is never supposed to bleed color. Not sure who puts the color dye on the fabric and leather but it does not seem like it’s cured or tanned correctly. Between both purchases I paid a lot of money for this furniture. I had terrible luck with two different purchases within less than a year. I have lost a lot of money with both purchases and furniture that’s no good. I loved the furniture all but the color bleeding on me and my clothes. If the company cannot make sure the fabric and leather is properly dyed without rub off then I can’t recommend homestretch to anybody! What good is furniture if it ruins your clothing and you have to sit on towels and sheets. For the money I paid I should not have had to had any of this happen period. Very...
Read moreI am the owner of a new Custom Comfort HomeStretch power reclining sofa and recliner.
After about 2 weeks of ownership, here is my impression. I am 5'10" and weigh 160.
When I sit on either the recliner or sofa my feet do not touch the floor. This proves to get uncomfortable after about 10 minutes. The individual seat and back cushion compartments are filled with a fibrous fill and not foam. This not only makes the cushions look wavy and lopsided but also not all seats on the couch feel the same. The couch after a week does not look new as far as the cushion shapes go. Even the assembly from the factory on one of the back cushions looked crooked. I removed the back and it is obvious that the cushions were attached to the frame crooked from the factory. (See Picture) The adjustable headrest lower end of the cushion hits my shoulders along with my head which pushes my shoulders out with my head which is very uncomfortable. The metal angle iron base frame of the couch flexes considerably when moving to position the couch on the floor. It seems like it could easily bend or twist.
Unless you are fully reclined there is no position that we find comfortable. Overall my wife and I both are sorry with our purchase and would gladly like to have back the couch that this couch replaced. It is the most uncomfortable couch we have ever owned.
I would never purchase another Custom...
Read moreBeware!!! Home Stretch does not warranty the customer, they warranty the dealer. We special ordered a living room suite from Factory Direct in Johnson City, TN. the fabric color came off on our clothes, and we went back five days after delivery and complained. Nothing was done, so we called Home Stretch. They said they have been having this problem for a year and a half, and would credit Factory Direct's account when they picked up the furniture. Factory Direct would not refund us, so I called Home Stretched and asked for help. I was told they didn't sale me the furniture and they had no control over the dealer. We had to hire a lawyer to get a refund on our warranty issue. If Home Stretch has had this problem for a year and a half, they should issue a recall or make sure the customer's warranty is honored. Factory Direct is a dealer for Home Stretch and represents their product. Bottom line is you shouldn't need a lawyer for a...
