So it's not really a big casino. It's great for its size. Inside has nothing but lots of slot machines. I had a great time. So far, 3 Jacpots have been paid out all 3 nights that I've been there for. I'm trying to go bi-weekly for this whole football season. Someone from Sacramento told me it's easy to set bets there on games during gaming seasons. A kiosk at the corner across the bar allows you to place bets 24/7 unless the machine is down or 3 mins prior to a game ending. For a small amount of money, you can set Parlays with better odds than mobile apps or local betting. Nevada has a different bracket for payouts than California. I've had ups and downs on the slot machine as I play those while I wait for my buddy to set his. The Bar here is ok kinda like a big ol oval coutertop with an island in the center and a bar tender behind it. He is allowed to call the shots on who drinks and reserves the rights over patriants who over drink themselves to refuse service. I have called in before travel and talked to managers who are well knowledgeable on information related to gambling. It was highly appreciated as one manager had questioned another to give us accurate answers. As for the bar ladies, they do tend to you and without bugging ask for any commodities regularly. And as for dinner, arrive early to eat at the restaurant in the same building. The next door convenient store is 24/7 also, but late night only leaves you to cold sandwiches. Generally 1 guy is the custodian here cleans bathrooms and slots , everybody else has individual roles here also such as a person in the Cashier cage. Was a great trip to stay here...
Read moreGold ranch Price gouges people for gas and inside their "convenience" store. They charge 70 cents more than anywhere in Reno for their buy two monster deals. Then they don't even setup the deal on ever flavor and hope you won't catch it. When you do it's all attitude for them to give you the correct price. The chips are 2 dollars more a bag then it is for the mom and pop store in Verdi ( the one right by the post office out there ). Their gas is 40 cents more a gallon then it is 10 miles back into Reno. There's so much shit they have jacked their prices up on and get away with it... I have lived by the Gold ranch since the days it was called the prospector. The guy who took it that used to own the sands has let it go to shit .. at least the Stremmels knew that the gas station drew folks in so if your gonna gouge them there you not gonna do well in your casino...done going there after 41 years, will never shop there unless it's an emergency. Even then I'll just go with out beer or chips and won't spend more on gas than what I need to get to the Maverick off...
Read moreWe're not idiots, Gold Ranch. We know there's an RV park right up your butt crack behind you. We saw the hundreds of 'no overnight parking' signs. We weren't staying there, we were passing through.
I decided to stop in for breakfast (I was driving a small RV) after being stuck in Reno for a couple days due to a storm, and wanted to throw a few dollars in the machine before eating. I wasn't there 10 minutes before security was hot and heavy over my RV sitting in the parking lot. A fellow person in the parking lot said you guys were trawling my rig after only a couple minutes of being there, about to call the cops or whatever it was you were going to do. It was 7 in the morning, we were GOING somewhere.
I'll never stop here again and throw money in your casino, which is a shame because the restaurant was quite nice and the staff there was...
