We had the best time! Rikki was our tour guide she was phenomenal and very knowledgeable. This is by far one of the coolest disterllery tours we choose the bottle your own experience. We started the tour down a few steps and the first thing that hit me was the smell and if I could put that smell into one word it was History. I loved learning about the history and seeing how it's evolved into something amazing that gets to be shared with others.
Amazing cocktails so many different things to try. One of the bartenders was bald sorry I forget his name believe it was bald Ben , he and his fellow bartenders were absolutely amazing with all the drink suggestions and knowledge. The store with all the fruits and veggies and the pumpkins and the cider and food trucks and the music this is not your typical distillery there is something here for everyone.
We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners he was so nice and very welcoming I highly recommend a visit to the...
Read moreWe had a wonderful visit to one of our favorite distilleries last weekend. A quick lunch of flatbreads outside while listening to great live music. Then a fantastic “Bottle Your Own Experience” tour with Rikki. Our second tour with her and she is very knowledgeable and friendly as she shares about the history and expansion of the Huber family’s wine and spirits programs. Lots of straight from the barrel bourbon and whiskey samples before getting to fill our own family reserve bottles to take home. We then moved to the tasting room where we split a tasting flight to determine which other bottle(s) we might bring home. Jeff was extremely helpful and engaging as he brought each of the 8 samples. We chose the reserve Double Oaked as our extra purchase. Everyone was wonderful and we can’t wait to visit again soon! We highly recommend Starlight as a fun destination for food, fun, families, as well as wine and...
Read moreVisited and toured with a family member I dragged along. The tour guide we had for the bottle your own experience (Rikki, a history major) was stellar. The tour concludes with a per-person choice between a single barrel bourbon or single barrel rye after tasting through several interesting barrels in the finishing and soon-to-be-bottled rickhouse closest to the distillation equipment. These are estate reserve barrels and get packed in the shown containers. In the storefront, we were helped by a larger bearded fellow (Nate? Sorry I can’t remember your name for sure, but I’m sure your employer knows who I mean) that was very helpful and not afraid of throwing samples at me if he thought I’d like them. Probably helps that we had similar tastes. We left around $900 lighter than we came in and aren’t upset...
