They have a great product. I had used them in rebuilds and installs. I was not a full time transmission shop, and didn't do hundreds. I had bought maybe 6-12 converters and probably an equal amount of trans and transfer case rebuild kits. I hadn't done any in a while, and went to order one. Customer service said I needed to renew my CC agreement, no problem. Filled it out and the CEO of the company stepped in saying do not sell to me. When I asked why, he stated they lose money selling them one at a time, and, most importantly "the installation is by a non professional who does not have the proper equipment to do the job correctly". I'm not sure why he assumed I was not a professional, but he sure did. Then I told him it was slightly insulting he assumes I don't know what I'm doing, and that this converter was for a customer (shop account) anyway. I also asked him to look at my sales history and tell me when I had ever filed a warranty claim...to my knowledge, I never have. He responded by saying "almost every rebuild job requires a hot flusher", a product they conveniently sell, and it doesn't matter how good the technician is. I don't have one, I'll admit, but again, he assumed I didn't. When I was doing more transmissions, I was actually in talks with Angie at PNH about purchasing one, but didn't get to that volume so I would replace trans cooler lines, trans cooler, and radiator to ensure no foreign metal would return to the rebuild transmission. I told him as much. Great products, sure. This just really seemed like an awful, unnecessary thing to do to a customer who had never been an issue. I guess when you get big enough, the little guy doesn't matter anymore. I sent the...
Read moreHaving been in the transmission business now a pretty long time, I can say I've used pretty much everyone. I used to be a big fan of Precision, was a customer for many years. Started my own business 8 years ago, of course had to use precision. 2nd or 3rd converter into business on my own with them, they send me a 47/48re billet nice converter. Long story short. They send me the wrong converter in the right box. I don't pick up on the mistake. It was the other style, seals internal instead of in the pump. Transmission blows up of course. I find the mistake. Precision proceeds to say with 100% certainty they could have not sent the wrong converter. LOL. IVE ONLY BOUGHT like 3 converters and was the first 47/48re billet I purchased..... HOW did I get the wrong converter..... A precision converter. THE ABSOLUTE WORST IMPOSSIBLE AND INCAPABLE OF RESPONSIBILITY. So I was out the 600$. And had to buy a new one..... Where did I buy? SUNCOAST. As a new business, new relationship it was a dent. Too bad because I always loved the quality. SUNCOAST was over 1000$ but it's still running strong. Great buy. Precision. Thank you for not helping me at all when I needed you. I didn't...
