Family Dollar — Local services in New Market

Peggy, I believe is the manager was very rude. She was rude to everyone even her employees. I'm not for people losing their job but she should be fired or wrote up. We had bought an item that was on a rack marked 50% off. It didn't scan as such which was fine. She kept saying it was buy one get one 50% off. We went back and read the sign several times to make sure we didn't read it wrong. We told her again what the sign read and if it wasn't half off the sign needed to be removed. She would not listen to reason and was raising her voice. Since the item wasn't on sale we ask for a refund. Even though we had just checked out she said she would give us a gift card. Anyway we left with the item, because she would not give us our money back. It wasn't a big deal to us but she turned it into a big deal. And you should not about yell at your customers. I would hate to work under her. I really feel sorry for the cashier she needed her at the front and the manager said no not unless she really had to, in a hateful tone. People need to learn...

So, the store was very clean and very organized. I do have to comment on how unfriendly the manager was. She never said a nice word and looked like she hated her job. Im not one to make bad reviews or be nasty. However, the staff was rude three times to me within a short ten minute period. I asked to use restroom and the cashier looked annoyed. I ran across a box of laundry soap I lifted up and handle broke, I made her aware of it and she seemed even more annoyed and then I entered an isle the manager was doing some stocking in and buggievwascin my way she moved it out of my way in rude manner.... As if again the paying customers are bothersome to the staff. I voiced my opinion on the redness of staffed to manager. As I stated above this store is the cleanest I've ever been in but the most rude staff I've ever seen. Manager being rude is bad. So because of that I'll never shop there again I don't like feeling as a annoying person when I'm a customer. If you hate your job please...

Just visited this Family Dollar. Had 3 items and was ready to check out. No one at the register, so I paced back and forth a few times, and noticed a worker stocking shelves, so alerted her I was ready to ck out. She said, ok I'll meet you up there, as she continued stocking. I came back to the register and waited another minute, thinking she's on her way. Checked again, she's still stocking and then about another minute she starts heading towards the front while saying, "we've got other things to do ". As she's cking me out, she comments, " this is going to take awhile". I replied, excuse me..she said, " for future reference, if you come here, it's going to take a while ". I said is it just you here?, she replied, yes, for now. As I was leaving another associate was coming in. I was very disappointed in her lack of professionalism and I won't be back. Very bad...
