Ordered the nachos. It came to the table with what looked like a whole 8oz cup of sour cream slopped over the top of everything. Now, nachos are nachos and are supposed to be a little messy to eat but, I didn't expect the mess to be started for me. As I began to dig through the sour cream, I found a large, solid chunk of ground beef, almost like a meatball, in the middle of the food. I broke the mass open and immediately noticed that the interior of the "meatball" was pink towards the center. I brought it to the attention of our server and asked for a plate of fries, having lost my appetite for nachos. I asked for the manager and I brought the problem to his attention as well. He assured me that the meat was cooked and that I was one of several people expressing concern about the meat. He explained that the seasoning used in the ground beef turned the meat a pinkish color and people have the same reaction that I had. I did notice that the meatball was pink in the center but the the outer part was nicely browned as was the rest of the ground beef NOT in a ball. If the seasoning used is affecting the meat with an off-putting color, I believe it's time to rethink the seasoning and also, regarding the sour cream, a little attention to detail in presentation of the food shows a cook's/chef's care of the product they put out and how much they care about their customers. Quality assurance by everyone involved with the preparation, presentation and service of each and every plate from the servers all the way up to the manager will definitely carry a restaurant a...
Read moreI treated some family members to late lunch Aug. 20, and had raved how great the restaurant/food use to be before COVID hit. Boy was I wrong today! No host/hostess, several wait staff on floor and ignored us, waiting to be seated. Waited for several minutes when FINALLY was ushered to a table. At first waitress tried to rush our order and tried to leave, I had to abruptly tell her we were not done finalizing order yet. After that she was nice and catered to our needs thru out our stay (1.5hrs.). Our lunch was a big order and I tipped graciously. But it was when I was ready to pay the tab, I had to wait for several minutes AGAIN at the front. Floor staff looked and ignored us AGAIN! Finally I had to interrupt one of the wait staff passing by then she took my credit card and went to register at the counter. NO ONE told me the waitress that took our order would cash me out. Another waiting game when I finally said I needed to be on my way I had 1.5 hr drive home. After that another waitress became verbally confrontational to me. I said something to the effect that service is to slow, and I waited to be cashed out. But that waitress was still berating me with her back turned and talking to another lady who was dress differently, taller and I assumed she might have been the manager on shift. I said do you treat your customers and talk to them that way, very unprofessional?! She kept talking and I just ignored her and walked away. Before COVID I use to drive 1.5hrs to eat at this restaurant but I don't think that will...
Read moreThis review is for the American Diner Restaurant. While the food was excellent, the veggies fresh and flavorful, good quality fries and a quality steak cooked to order, there's a reason for the low rating that I hope the management takes to heart. You never get a second chance to make a good first impression -- and you failed in this regard. I made specific request for a seat that was quiet and had an electric outlet as I had some work to catch up on after a week on the road without wifi. The hostess was combative from the start, first lying and saying they had no electric outlets near the tables. My first time here, I pointed to 3 from the door. Then she tried to put me right beside the kitchen where people were buzzing by constantly. I again pointed to a quiet table with a plug and she said they usually don't seat people back there. Which was her second lie, as all the tables around me started filling up. Maybe this is news to you, or maybe it's a "Casino mindset", I don't know. I usually don't come to casinos. But you'll find customers REALLY don't like being lied to and treated like they're a disruption to the status quo -- rather than the ones keeping the lights on and the paychecks flowing. I would like to think my simple expectations weren't too high for New...
