Love the course and location. However, just be a little guarded if you have any business transactions with the admins.

We put a deposit for a scramble a year ago down at a price agreed upon by all parties. When the pandemic forced us to cancel the event, we anticipated the course might take some tough financial times and let them keep the money in good faith that we could have our scramble again this spring.

As we all know “tough times” for golf only lasted a month or two as opposed to other businesses, after which time the course was flooded with golfers every day. Despite actually probably ultimately profiting off the pandemic, the admins decided to try and strong arm us for more money citing the technicality that we hadn’t actually signed the contract yet as of last year. Of course by the letter of the law they are within their rights to do this, but it certainly felt like a breach of good faith and a poor business interaction to try and get a few hundred dollars more from our organization which was just trying to run a charity event.

To be fair, there was no haggling over getting our money back and this was refunded. However, we will not be doing further business with this administration and we would advise anyone considering to do so to proceed with caution.

Addendum- I found out later that a year ago someone on our tourney’s committee had actually signed the contract at the agreed upon price, making this bad faith move on the pro shop’s part all the more...

So City Park has two courses...I'll start with the south course. The south course is the nicer of the two. The south course is always in good solid shape, but it's not a particularly long/challenging course. It lacks any real personality. There is water here and there, but there is nothing great that stands out about this course. The biggest low point of this course is it's price...if you are a resident of New Orleans, and you play on the weekend, it cost $120. Absolutely outrageous, this course should be $80 MAX on the weekends for residents. Even if you play with a member, they still charge you $90, just ridiculous.

The north course is an absolute goat track. Weeds growing on the greens, and fairways are garbage. Also this course shouldn't cost more than $45, but it does. I also personally witnessed the clubhouse staff moving a two-some's tee time wihtout notifying them, to accomodate a four-some that asked if they could switch their later tee time to a bit earlier. Woman at the desk said, "we have a two-some at that time, but ill but push them back and you can take their slot". The foursome was standing right in front of me when this happened, and she didn't call the other group to see if it would be okay to push them. I'd be absolutely furious if they did that to me.

As a resident of New Orleans and someone who has played this course about 10 times in the last 7 years, don't think I'll return unless their...

Review purely based on customer service, not the course. I haven't played the new courses yet (I used to play the old courses b/f Katrina), and the other day I saw Groupon had a deal to try the courses at a discount. I got one. The Groupon clearly states to email for a reservation and mention the Groupon. I did and received a response email from Alex Abbruzza to call instead of email in order to reserve a tee time. I responded and told him that I didn't have access to a phone as I was offshore, and would like to reserve a tee time via email (as was one of the ways required in the Groupon). He responded. "If you need I can do it over email, but those come with a seven day booking window. You would need to email me next Wednesday." . A booking window was never mentioned on the deal. I responded that wasn't stated on the deal (I sent a copy of it to prove it), which he responses that they only accept reservations within 7 days of the tee time requested "on the North Course".....which is extremely odd that they only do that on ONE course, but at the same time, you can go online and book as far as 3 months out. Plus it seemed pretty convenient how the story changed from not being about to book over 7 days out due b/c of the Groupon to b/c of the course. Complete lack of customer service and laziness on Alex' part. Will not go out of my way to give them my...

This was my first visit to Bayou Oaks at City Park in NOLA since before Hurricane Katrina in 2005. I found it extraordinary, amazingly in great shape for a public golf course. Manicured meticulously and aesthetically pleasing which enhances your ability to play better. It is obvious that the staff takes pride in keeping it in such great shape. It was difficult to find fault from the club house, driving range with track man, tees, fairways, greens and hazards. It was such an enjoyable experience playing there again. Highly recommended.

The north course at bayou oaks is the best bang for your buck in the city for golf. If you go at twilight the rates are unbeatable even if you rent a cart. It's a great course with decent greens and great views and scenery. There's also a good chance you'll see gators, hawks and other cool local wildlife. The driving range is also fairly priced and has a mix of grass and mats for you to hit off of. I highly recommend going here for holes or the range.

We are out of towners and 1st time Tesla driver so we found that a destination EV charger was here but after plugging in, either was not working or was too slow to register “charging “ on our panel. The golf course looked well kept and The City Park itself is a fab place with forest an excellent peaceful walking experience. Poor review was because of the charger and no trash cans near the picnic tables at the forest entrance.
