DG Market — Local services in New Smyrna Beach

We’ve been to this location numerous times over the years and for the most part we liked it until this trip. It’s nice that it’s large with a market, home items, cleaning supplies, and toys but the most recent trip left a bad taste in our mouths. We went into the store to purchase soda that was advertised as 3 for $12. Between the cashier and the manager neither of them could get the coupon to work. This was either a bait and switch by the company or poor advertising on their part for their deals. The employees were visibly frustrated but clearly wanted to help us. We still overpaid for our items but the Dollar General corporation should be making sure their customers and employees are given 1. correct information and 2. the ability to utilize the deals offered. First experience here and the cashier is chatting with an old friend while a 7 person line is waiting with no other available cashiers. Second time back in one day because it’s close to our condo, couldn’t find a single employee on the floor, and when I did they offered me zero customer service and pointed to where I should find my item, and then ran into the back room, not to be seen again. No customer service, don’t waste your time, go the extra few miles even to the next dollar general. Not to mention they also had rancid and rotten...

There is never enough staff, they are not helpful and we have gotten ripped off more than once at checkout for charging more for an item than suppose to or forgetting to give us one bag and don't notice it until we get home.
