Actually don't live too far from the C-Town which is located on kybrook boulevard and South Jamaica since I don't drive it's easy access for me and I go there when I don't use the Instacart which I use at stop & shop sometimes but I have to say that when you walk in you don't expect much but it really is a cute little store I shouldn't say it's small it's medium size. Your fruits and their vegetables are really spot-on it's a very organized and everything is very clean and their produce is really top notch we never see anything spoiled and I was really impressed by that as well. It's not as big as a major supermarket but they seem to carry everything that you need I've never wanted for anything and I found different things there as well. If you go midday to 1:00 or 2:00 it seems like the best time the kids are in school the parents are working and the young people there are the ones that are retired like me or they ran out of food. The frozen food section has a lot of great things I don't cook that much so I buy a lot of frozen dinners I know I shouldn't but they have really good selection of frozen dinners and sometimes they're always new ones when I go as well. Their little dairy department which is at the end of an aisle has a wide selection on eggs and cheese yogurt juices and I was really quite impressed by that as well. The cashiers are always very very friendly I made friends with a few of them they don't bag for you so you have to do that yourself if you're not quick you know other people are sort of behind you looking at you that's the only reason why I didn't give it a five-star is that there's nobody bag you for you and I remember back in a day when that was part of being a cashier but maybe because of Union rules or specifications that's not part of their job anymore I'm not sure but if you go then you have to plan the bag but that being said it's a nice little store and a very busy kind of neighborhood and the prices are decent and you can be in and out really quickly Don't go around 5:00 or 6:00 it's the worst time everybody's coming home to work and stopping in there and it gets a little crazy I would suggest staying away from there at that time but during the weekends you can pretty...
Read moreThe law in NYC states that persons purchasing food with food stamps don't have to pay for bags when shopping but this store refuses to get paper bags which forces patrons that utilize snap benefits to purchace bags. I brought it to the attention of the store owner/manager. I don't know which one he was. He didn't seem intrested in what I had to say about the issue. He just used the excuse that they ran out of paper bags but I went back to the location on a different occasion and they still had no paperbags, and it was well past a week. I believe CTown is using their excuse of running out of bags to purposely skirt the law. I also smelled the strong odor of cats and cat urine in the back of the store near the meat market. This means that the store is probably infested with mice or rats. I'm seriously thinking of calling the dept of health...
Read moreWe all know that newyork city and state have a band on plastic bags. I was at this particular c town the other day and I observed there paper bags going from 50 cents to one dollar all with in a weeks time .I was shaking my head like wow ,this paper bag fee is getting out of hand.
I was thinking about all of the poor moms and grand moms ,single parents ,that are going to be effected by this whole situation. The prices seem to be the highest in the poor minority communities. Especially this one ,some thing has to be done about this policy...
