Queens Public Library at South Jamaica — Attraction in New York

It took me some years to return to this location, which is located around the corner from my house due to the many times i attempted to come here, and it was like a playground. My explanation for the 1 star is as follows. As I enter the library, there's an entire group which included staff having all types if personal conversations in the corner which was rather loud, after this gathering was done there's was still music happening in the office along with excessive chattering, a phone conversation happening on speaker phone. All the while, the employee at the counter having a full-blown karaoke session while in between her phone keeps ringing aloud. Her conversation was just as loud. Once the conversation was done, it was back to the karaoke session. I tried multiple times to read for my h.w assignment, and it was almost impossible with all of the distractions happening. I could have stayed home with my three. Children and gotten way further than I did in the time I was in this place. This is a library for...

I came the other day to use the computer it was a struggle to print! I ask the receptionist for help and she barely got up to help me all she said go press print left hand side as if I wasn't doing that already, but there was something else that pop lady gave Me a look with an attitude sheesh I just left it alone and kept doing my job I ended up printing 2 of each which is a waste because they only allowed to print 20 pages mind she's the only loud one talking to her colleagues it is a library !! I won't be coming here. The other lady was nice it's just that particular lady...

A cozy little library. I didn't come here to enjoy the normal Library experience, I came here to provide one and I was met with great hospitality a cool space to relax in the thick of the summer heat, and a couple of adults and not so adults escaping the busy streets. It was a nice place, and I'm sure those looking to enjoy some quiet-cool temperatured time will find something they need here...
