This review is an update to my previous one. My initial concerns centered around a rude pharmacy technician who had been extremely disrespectful and ultimately mistaken regarding an issue. This update focuses mainly on one of the pharmacists.
I visited the pharmacy recently to get my COVID-19 and flu shots, which I needed for work. I arrived shortly after they opened and overheard two pharmacists (a man with glasses and a woman with a Russian-sounding accent) and a technician discussing how unhappy they were with the store and their careers. The technician sighed subtly when I requested a flu shot and hinted that it might be too early in the day for one. I had realized at that point that the store had just opened, but because I work overnights, I sometimes lose track of the time of day when running errands.
The male pharmacist, though he joined in the conversation, seemed mindful that the store could hear him. I appreciated his effort to maintain professionalism while at the same time validate his coworkerâs issues. The technician also kept his comments subtle and polite and ironically, was probably the most professional one. However, the female pharmacist took a very different approach. She loudly complained that the store restroom had given her a UTI, then shouted across the store, advising what I assume was the manager not to use the restroom for the same reason. She continued to voice her dissatisfaction, claiming her work environment was unsafe and that her pay was insufficient. The salary figure she mentioned seemed far from credible and was highly inappropriate to share in a public setting. She used profanity liberally, dropping the f-word numerous times, and audibly sighed when the technician politely reminded her to administer my flu shot.
When she finally brought me into a private room for the shots, her demeanor was clearly resentful. She asked which arm I preferred with a forced tone and left the room with body language that made me feel like an unwelcome inconvenience or a John that hadnât tipped enough. I understand how challenging it can be to deal with demanding customers in a (not-so) high-stress environment, and I can sympathize with some frustration. However, itâs disconcerting to hear a pharmacist speak so negatively about their workplace and to witness this level of unprofessionalism in front of customers.
On a positive note, kudos to the young Walgreens employee who later went into the restroom, mop, bucket and grit in his possession, and addressed whatever issue was ravaging all...
Read moreI took time off from work and showed up at the pharmacy at 10:50am for my COVID booster shot this morning. After scanning the QR posted on the wall next to the two staff members working the counter and checking in (as per the instructions on the wall), I sat on one of the chairs in the waiting area. After waiting for over 30 minutes, at 11:30am, I went over to the pharmacist and asked her if I'm going to get my shot as I've been waiting for over 30 minutes. She then tells me the QR system is not working and that I've to check in at the counter with one of the two staff members. The two idiotic staff members clearly saw me scanning the QR and could have told me the checking system was not working. But one of them goes ahead and tells me to take a seat ignoring the fact I've been waiting for over 30 minutes. They think they're the only ones working and being busy when there're many others who work and have to take time from it to take care of themselves. However, it's because of poorly managed/trained staff members lacking empathy and poorly organized pharmacies such as these that have led to a deterioration of healthcare in this country. I've been using this pharmacy since 2007 but my last six visits have resulted in wait times of at least 20 minutes. I will have to start looking for a new one for my medication and shots. Extremely disappointing because this pharmacy is within walking distance...
Read moreThe store is great. I work next door and go everyday to get ice, the cashier named Jane is highly rude and inappropriate with customers, i have heard her a few times talking to people in a insulting way, today she did it with me. Please check the cameras if there are any. She made me feel insulted for just coming there. If she canât smile that is okay but at the very least do not disrespect your customers. Youâre just a employee. The list of things she said:- I asked her about the 5$ discount coupon u had, she got mad because I didnât read that it was only applicable to cosmetics, she said I donât care what the other girl told you. Then I mentioned donât be rude , she got more furious. She did her job but aggressively. I calmed down and tried to not ruin her day and i said nice things but she said, I donât worry about the people that donât matter.
What the hell? Does she get her salary through the people? Or what?? Unfortunately she ruined her day and mine in a matter of 2 minutes. Incase i spelled her name wrong, i met with her at 3:38 pm...
