Very expensive Walmart. Use to be 5 stars...wish I could give them zero but I can't post without a star.
In the past year or two there has been a change in staff and it has severely dropped the quality of food and the atmosphere. This use to be a cute local farm stand where the food was fresh. Now you get screaming employees with massive carts taking up all the free space. You can't hear anything but their talk across the whole store.
The vegetables and fruits look like they have been dropped kicked into the display. My favorite was the plums where every single one was rotten and placed to hide the bruises and rot. It was like an Easter egg hunt where they are all bad.
I got some herbs last night for a roast in one last attempt to find something redeemable about this place. The manager threw each herb bundle in the bag like they were killing flies. They were all broken open and mixed in the bag after their abuse.
No one can answer when the local milk comes in nor how they do bottle returns. When you ask if they can find out they act like they don't understand what you are asking.
What happened? This place is horrible. Walmart quality service and products for artisan prices. $30 for beaten herbs and frozen potatoes? Waste of time and money. Go to Shaw's or Market Basket. At least they...
Read morePlace is so so. We went to the Newburyport location expecting the sunflowers festival, once we there they started the festival was helding in the NH location and that someone made a mistake advertising it on facebook. This was on Saturday 2:30 pm and they still haven't fix that huge mistake. So, festival still continues on Sunday and we gave them a try since the advertisement was really good saying thousands of sunflowers, games for kids, good food, etc. But I wasn't worthy we just got to see a couple hundreds (not thousands)of small sunflowers. Just a few tents with food(hot dogs, burgers, pita). We got burgers 2 of them with raw meet. No many games for the kids. We explained staff there what happened the day before, they just keep saying "sorry, sorry". No even offer a discount at the enter. The cover wasn't cheap eaither. Anyways, we were very disappointed for the whole dynamic. Regretted on the decision to drove all the way there for nothing even getting that previos experience the day before that may was a sign. I definitely don't recommend that festival because of my own experience. If you just want to get away from the city is fine, but don't...
Read moreWhat an absolute gem of a place to visit. I was visiting a cousin in the area who worked there when he was younger and thought we "might" like to see. Might? There really wasn't enough time for my visit; I could happily have spent all day mooching around at everything - I genuinely wish I could pick up my shop over here and pop it inside their building. were As a florist I was automatically drawn to their sunflowers - the biggest and best I have ever seen (and I've spent a lot of time at Chelsea over-the-years) I love how they grow and dry a lot of their flowers; it's been a really long time since I've been somewhere with flowers drying above my head.
They have a lovely selection of gifts and homely bits-and-pieces upstairs, which were priced really well (and surprised me for they'd be at leas 4 times the price at a similar business over here).
The cakes look delicious, their bread was lovely and the vegetables were of the best quality - their parsnips were of a similar quality to the sunflowers in that I'd never seen such good ones before.
It is top of my list for when I go back and I will definitely allow more time, and a lot of space in...
