DG Market — Local services in Newport

Had to run there at the last minute Wednesday night, which is tonight pretty close to the time not quite went in there I had to get a few things paid for the overpriced milk need some drinks and some food as far as the drinks went they had the three packs for $14 on sale already had my hands full. I didn’t have a buggy at the time, and so I grabbed one of the 12 packs which is right by the so when I got to the cash store, let her know that I’m gonna grab two more on my way out. I want to get three of them for the sale. She told me no she couldn’t do that that I had to bring all 312 packs over to her before I could leave with it so she can scan them well she didn’t scan all three she scanned one three times which at that point in time she lied to me about that let alone later to find out she’s the manager there were still a few customers in there shopping and it was right at closing time so they were starting starting to close the doors and stuff as I was leaving. I accidentally forgot my keys in there and I remembered the whole reason why I was going there anyways was to pick up cigarettes. There wasn’t a while there stores around in the area to get , so the guy at the door even said that there were customers in there shopping he didn’t see why I couldn’t so he asked the lady who is the manager as if I went ahead and came back in real quick to get the cigarettes and she told him no she couldn’t do that yada yada yada and I’m like OK I just spent a bunch of money in here and you can’t be nice and let me buy pack of cigarettes while you still have customers in here real quick and she told me not just as far as I’m concerned, I will never shop there I would rather just take my time and drive to Newport if I need something late at night again or else never will I shop here again with rude people like that work in there that’s just rude and plate we’re community here and you’re kind of the community store. You shouldn’t treat your community like that and I really enjoyed the convenience of that store being there but now that has changed if you’re going to be rude and I will bring green in this even further up the ladder . The gentleman that was at the door was very nice and polite. I’ll give you props, but the lady inside who I found out through him was the manager yeah that new management there is no better I would’ve never treated my customer like that especially knowing that they were just there spending money and I still had customer still shopping inside the store. I would’ve said sure you can come in and get a pack of cigarettes. I already know you were here, I was right outside the door and turned back around you...

I thought at first it was very convienient to have one near home , until my wife and I were greeted by a host of officers accusing us of stealing from this store . Little does or did the store realize my wife hadn't left the house since Christmas this is March 01 2019 that we were arrested & it happened supposedly in feb and anyone including professionals know MY wife wasn't there because of her cptsd . This arrest was and still is humiliating not only for me but her also and it sent her Into a bad place mentally and has caused a just of problems .. So watch your every move and always have alibis because you will go jail if they don't like you . Still trying get it sorted out ..and it wasn't the store there by high school, it was on hopper hwy. And anyone who knows us or her they'll tell you to that's nots our cup of tea to steal....

This is my favorite DG store out of all the ones in our area. The ppl that work there are awesome and take pride in running the store properly. All of the ladies have excellent customer service and always go above and beyond to be helpful. The store is well organized and they stay on top of keeping all the stickers changed out for the right sales at the right time. You can't even walk thru the aisles at some of the other local DG stores and the other stores never have things properly tagged. I don't think it's employee fault at those stores tho, I think they are just extremely understaffed. But the Cosby DG always keeps up with what's going on and goes above and beyond to help. I shop there often for this reason. Keep up the good work ladies!! You all...
