First off, Matthew is a true professional and an expert at what he does. His knowledge of the river was unparalleled, and he made sure everyone was comfortable with the safety protocols before we even hit the water. His passion for rafting and the outdoors really shone through. He gave us a perfect mix of exciting rapids, and fun facts about the area. It wasn’t just a raft trip—it was a whole experience!

The rapids were thrilling but never overwhelming, thanks to Matthew's expert guidance. He knew exactly when to paddle hard, when to hold on, and when to just enjoy the ride. We felt safe and confident the whole time, which is saying something considering the intensity of some of the white-water sections we tackled!

Not only was the rafting itself amazing, but Matthew also made sure we had plenty of laughs along the way. His energy was contagious, and he created a sense of camaraderie among the group.

We had an absolute blast! New hobby unlocked. I never once felt nervous or unsafe. The guides are chill and you can tell they really love what they do. Safety is first priority and they made that very clear. The area is rebuilding after Hurricane Helene but it doesn’t take away from the magic. It was cold but once we got back to our cabin, my angsty TEEN boys were different. Once they were warm again, they were ready to plan more adventures and more rivers to explore. I once met Edgar Harrell in the deli section at a Walmart in Clarksville, TN about 15 years ago. I had no idea who I was standing in front of and the honor that I was afforded that day as we talked. On my raft was a woman who has done more and seen more than most of the population ever could. I don’t want to give her privacy away but she left a lasting impression on me and the boys. They saw strength that day from a kind river guide (Bama), and a raft full of women. I hope she had an amazing birthday. Moral of the story: “you never know who you are going to meet” is a true statement, don’t wait for anyone else if you have bucket list dreams, and Raft Outdoor Adventures is a great...

We visited Raft Outdoor Adventures to kick off our son's 12th birthday celebration, and I can’t say enough about the entire team—they were incredible from start to finish!

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by one of the guides (we remember her by her heart-shaped sunglasses!)—she was so friendly and welcoming. When my son mentioned it was his birthday, she made sure everyone knew, and it made him feel so special. We truly appreciated that extra touch!

On the way up to the river, our safety instructor had us laughing while still being thorough—he made sure we felt confident and ready for the adventure.

Our guide, Carver, was amazing—super knowledgeable, shared interesting stories, and helped us understand how much the river has changed over the years. His passion and insight really added to the experience.

The only thing we’re bummed about is forgetting to grab our photo at the end! 😅 We were just so caught up in the excitement.
