Where to begin…

Cute place with potential. Friendly staff. Indoor seating with a little a/c or outdoor seating near the River. That’s about where the positives end.

The food - not good. Not good at all. The best part of our meal was the side of fresh fruit that I ordered.

We started with chips and salsa. What we got were stale chips and what tasted like bottled pace picante sauce. No bueno.

The hubby and I split one of the specials that I think was called Udder Chaos? A burger with goat cheese, bacon and a few other items. The burger patty itself is what ruined it. The meat looked almost gray and tasted like a frozen burger patty. Yuck.

The French fries were over cooked and tasteless.

The side salad was a small cup like almost what you would get for a sample. We were shocked when it came out from the kitchen. Seriously three bites and you’re done!

The waitstaff seemed overwhelmed. Was it busy? Not when we initially arrived, but then the place got moderately busy. The entire place seemed…chaotic.

Waitress forgot my husband’s drink and initially brought out and started passing out another table’s food to us. We had to tell her multiple times that this was not our food. She and the food runner were so confused. They finally figured out that it was for a table outside.

Once our food was brought to us, none of the sauces were brought with the order like ketchup, ranch, etc that the kids had ordered. We could rarely get our waitress’s attention, so we kept having to bother whichever random person was walking by for items that were missed.

There are two bathrooms outside, but one was broken, so the guests are waiting around for one stall to open.

Overall, a mess of a place.

We were not the only people there that day with a poor experience. Two tables were seated after us and completely forgotten...

I don't usually give poor reviews when I travel, but I was so disappointed that I felt I had to share. We stopped for lunch after rafting and it took us at least 1 hour to get our food. The food was ok, but nothing phenomenal (and I'm not a picky eater). My friends didn't think it was the greatest either. Three of us ordered the same beer, so the waitress suggested we do a 6 pack so we could save money, so we decided to do that. When it was time to pay, the cashier said they don't do 6 packs, so there wasn't a "discount price" for getting the 6 beers (instead of the 3 we were going to get originally), and we ended up paying way more than what we were expecting (it changed the price of our meal by $20). My husband even spoke to the cashier, but she had a "too bad" attitude. When my friends were paying, another customer came up to tell the cashier that they had been waiting a long time and no one had come by to take their drink or meal orders, and she snapped at them to "Sit back down, someone will come by." The customer didn't ask in a rude tone. Again, I'm not usually one to complain but I've worked in retail and know what it's like dealing with customers and I would never in my life have treated customers the way we were treated. The only plus was dining by the river, but in my opinion, it's not worth it - take your hard-earned money elsewhere with better food and better service. Hopefully the service has changed since we've been there, but we had such a bad experience we will...

Ok so first off me & my husband were here for our 9 year anniversary today. We had Toni as our server. After 15 and not lying 15 mins bc I’ve bartended for 11 years thru school I had to get up and find our server. She finally shows up which ok well she might be busy. Ok. No biggie. We put our order in and she brings the wings out no sauce. Now she said she didn’t know which sauce we wanted which was fair so we told her ranch. Ranch never comes out. We eat the wings ok. No biggie. She keeps trying to drop the check and telling us how busy she is about to be and that basically she won’t be giving us service. So we order beers in advance and everything we need no problem. She comes back to take out plates and gets sat a 5 top. Ok I understand. Then she proceeds to basically ask when we are gonna cash out. So we say we are find and she proceeds to take the napkins I’m using to whip my forehead in this southern heat and give them to the new table although the table right next to us has no one and a napkin dispenser. Sadly my first experience with the place was so good I came back. Now I will never come back. And don’t worry they sell shirts that say bad service lousy beer for sale. I think they took it for a...

Food - we tried the Baja Panini and the Triple Cheese Panini. Sandwiches were tasty and came with a decent side of fries. The price for value seemed a little high, and the menu pretty small and limited. Restaurant - this is a neat place tucked off the highway. Has a nice outdoor seating area which would be recommended to sit at when visiting. The indoor seating was bland and your able to see the kitchen from some angles. Sometimes it's best to not peek behind that curtain. There were some interesting items decorated the walls. Bathroom was dark and grimy. Not inviting. Service - staff was very pleasant and enthusiastic. The person we met ran the whole show, hostess, waitress and clerk. She was funny and personable, made the experience great. Overall - this was a nice stop on the way though for a quick bite to eat and stretch our legs as we were on a long drive. I would probably find another spot to stop if we were passing though again, as the menu does not have more for me to come back for.

Delicious! Do not skip their homemade hummus, so flavorful and fresh! I had their pimento cheese sandwich and was very pleasantly surprised to find that their pimento cheese is more cream cheese-based than Mayo-based, really light and refreshing for lunch but still rich in flavor. My husband had the pulled pork and loved it, say yes to the cole slaw on there! The lavender lemonade was also so tasty 💜 As of April ‘25 Beantrees Cafe is in the middle of rebuilding their main restaurant which they lost in the hurricane, they’re operating out of their coffee shop and it was still absolutely delicious with wonderful tables by the river to sit and enjoy your food and great conversation with other fellow travelers, locals etc. The gals working were lovely to chat with as well, very nice and sure know how to make an excellent lunch :) Loved that they had such solid vegetarian options! Definitely recommend!

We sat outside by the river and had a delightful time. Toni took good care of us, bringing beers & food in a timely manner. Two of us split the nachos which were exceptional. If you don’t like hot, get it without the jalapeños. There was plenty for two, but all of us could have eaten it and been full. Husband had the fries and pork even though Husband asked for a recommendation & Toni said the burgers were better than the pork. After eating the pork, which he said was okay, he said he will have the burger next time. We also heard a gentleman RAVE about the burger on the way out. Husband said the fries were exceptional! If you want good food, reasonably priced, and excellent, friendly service, you really should come here for lunch. Oh! And we definitely want to come for breakfast. We hear it is fantastic!
